About Curious Brewery & Taprooms
Curious Brewery & Taprooms is a brewery restaurant and taproom at Unit 1 Victoria Rd in Ashford, set overlooking the working brewery. Beer is served fresh from the tank, and tours and tastings let guests see where it is made. The menu lists 12 dishes, including Mixed Marinated Olives and Chips & Dips To Share for the table, with fish and chips among the mains. Three-course meals are commonly ordered, with starters before mains. Beer flights, pints and bottles or cans from the bar sit alongside the food, and a weekly steak night adds another option. Group bookings of up to 100 guests are taken, and dogs are welcome. The site is a few minutes on foot from Ashford International train station.

Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips is the dish diners return to most, described as big, tasty and perfectly cooked, even in a review that was otherwise critical. Close behind is a Nepalese night set menu, where reviewers praise a beautifully flavoured chicken skewer starter, melt in the mouth mutton curry and a vegetable curry, with a beer or wine included. Others single out the porchetta with red cabbage and mash, succulent hake, cheese croquettes full of melted cheese, pork belly, and a Caesar salad with moist chicken and lardons. On the drinks side, a Millionaires Stout and a beer flight get mentions, and staff are often called friendly and welcoming. The caveat comes from one reviewer who found the kitchen had run out of pizza dough by 8pm, which also ruled out flatbread, and described a server who snapped at the table. Another notes that sound bounces around the room. One regular still hopes frickles return to the menu.

“Four of us went for dinner here and it happened to be the first Nepalese night. Three of us had the Nepalese set menu and one had fish and chips and it was all excellent. The fish and chips was perfectly cooked and tasty. The rest of us had the chicken skewer starter which was beautifully flavoured and had six generous pieces of chicken. The mutton in the curry main was melt in the mouth and perfectly spiced and the veg curry was delicious. All came with nan bread and rice. The set menu also included a beer or wine, making it great value. Along with the lovely, friendly service it made for a really enjoyable Thursday evening. Highly recommended.”

“Liv was wonderful and the kitchen team really took care of us! Food was hot and delicious as always! We would like to see frickles back on the menu though! Apart from that no complaints!”

“Had a lovely lunch and a few beers celebrating our wedding anniversary. We will definitely be back and might eat a little less and try another beer. Highly recommended 🍺”

“We had a 3 course meal and beer flight travel zoo voucher. The staff were very friendly and helpful and explained what was included. The food was amazing, better than we had expected and we were served at our pace, so not rushed.....Definitely recommend!”

“The building is modern but not brash, with pleasant garden landscaping. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Good, interesting choice of food, well presented and delicious. The cheese croquettes are actually full of melted cheese. The hake was succulent and the accompanying veg were so tasty. The Wild Beer Co.'s Millionaires Stout is definitely my favourite. So, I would recommend you visit and I'm looking forward to my next one.”
