About Hong Kong Wok
Hong Kong Wok is a Chinese takeaway in Alfreton, on Mansfield Rd. The kitchen serves Chinese cuisine for customers who want to collect a meal and eat it elsewhere. Opening hours follow an evenings-only pattern, with the shop open Tuesday to Sunday. Monday is the one day each week it stays closed. Customers planning a daytime meal will need to look elsewhere, since the shop does not open before the evening. That makes it a place for dinner on six days of the week.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers return for the consistently tasty, reliable food, with several saying they have never had a bad meal and praising quick delivery, a Friday evening delivery that never lets them down, and collection that is always ready fast. One reviewer calls it the best local Chinese they know, and others point to reasonable value. A more measured reviewer describes basic-tasting Chinese food they choose when they want something simple, rather than the lots of flavours found elsewhere. Complaints are fewer but specific. One diner waited a long time after ordering in person rather than ringing ahead, though they found the food lovely. Another reports that onion rings were rock hard, the pineapple fritters came with no syrup, and the egg fried rice was very dry, though a refund was given. A third says that after complaining about one wrong dish they were refused service and met with an aggressive response from counter staff, who they felt knew little about the menu. Even so, the praise centres on dependable meals and punctual delivery.

“Staff and food are absolutely exceptional, I have not been to a better Chinese takeaway anywhere in the country and invite people to prove me wrong. Prices are more than reasonable especially for the quality.”
