Customer Review Summary
Full English breakfast is the most common draw, with reviewers calling the food fresh and the breakfast and lunch menus varied. Sandwiches come close behind, made with wholemeal bread and plenty of filling, and served with salad and homemade coleslaw that several describe as fresh and crispy. Cakes also earn praise, including a homemade Bakewell sponge, and the Americano with Seven District coffee and the tea are both called excellent. Reviewers repeatedly mention friendly, smiling staff and a relaxed atmosphere, with one noting a piano to play and another that the room is dog friendly. One dinner visitor, with the alcohol licence still pending, brought their own wine and enjoyed a steak. Several note the recent change of owner, and one lunch table was glad the waitress checked dishes for allergies. One pot of tea for two stretched to three cups each.

“We were staying in Alford and visited The Willow for dinner on 19th June. The owner and staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. We enjoyed a very nice steak and, although they are waiting for their alcohol licence, we were able to take our own wine for a small corkage charge. The restaurant is very dog friendly which was great as we had our small dog with us. We would recommend a visit to The Willow.”

“The friendliest welcome I think I've ever had (and I'm 63)! Delicious breakfast, fairly priced. A piano you could play... a great touch. I really appreciated, though I don't require them now, the free sanitary products in the ladies bathroom... thank you and well done. A lovely experience.”

“Popped in for lunch because we heard the place had changed hands recently, and were delighted to find it's a lovely place! Cosy atmosphere, tables nicely spaced so you can relax and feel at home. Comfy chairs. We both had a sandwich, each was fresh and tasty, the salad and coleslaw on the side plentiful and fresh. Tried the tea and the coffee, both excellent. The cakes looked amazing, will definitely be back to sample them! Also heard they will be opening up for evening meals soon, looking forward to coming to have a dinner here. Very friendly, knowledgeable waitress, more than happy to check dishes for allergies for us.”

“The food and the service was spot on. You can feel how much pride the team takes in what they do. Both breakfast and lunch menus are varied and freshly prepared. The homemade coleslaw is a must 😋. Highly recommend.”

“Family & pet friendly restaurant based in Alford, Lincolnshire. New ownership since February 26. Hoping to expand into doing evenings in the near future, themes nights and more. For now just daytime service, traditional english breakfasts, hot and cold sandwiches and more being added weekly. Fresh barista coffee and delicious cakes.”
