  “I was at 63 Clinton recently. Let me start by saying the one star is well deserved specially when it gets to food. The food is phenomenal. Like any other place there are ups and downs on the menu but you are in right hands. Food 5 out of 5: I think the magic was on some unusual pairings of flavors and texture. The sauces caught you by surprise at times a very pleasant one. I noticed specially on the white asparagus dish (that hole dish was a surprise). The dips for bread service specially the whipped tofu fall into same category. The main savory was beef and I liked it but I cannot say it was in same category as rest. In an unusual twist for me, maybe my most favorite was Basque Cheesecake (but I do have a sweet tooth). Finally the volume. You will be eating a lot!! I made the mistake of too much bread and on the huge final dessert I couldn't properly enjoy it. I was just too full. Service and Atmosphere 4/5 are also great but I think the food is the highlight. One suggestion: the sauces on the dishes are very elaborate and the explanation on them was so fast that I usually had to ask for repeats or just gave up and tried. It felt the explanation were a tad rushed. All in all, great food, and lovely atmosphere and staff. Finally kudos to bar staff. Very very friendly. I loved the place and food and will be back.”

  “Decent tasting menu that cherry-picks from many different cuisines. I can’t say anything wowed me, but it was about what you’d expect from a $130 tasting menu. The NA beverage pairing program was kind of a miss though. A couple of the choices were alright, but some of the house brewed options were way too sweet.”

  “This was the best dining experience I have ever had. Though I am young and this was my first Michalen Star restaurant, I can without a doubt say that my dinner tonight was one of the best I have ever experienced. We were welcomed by the sweetest staff who set a permanent mood of friendliness. Christina, Ray, Sam, and in all honesty every single staff member that we saw provided excellent service and made sure that we had an amazing time. During our meal, our server Christina provided the best service I have ever recieved. Even though my group of 5 was filled with 18-20 years old, she treated us with such respect and was extremely patient with explaining the menu. The service alone was one of the best parts of the the entire experience. We had high expectations and oh my God, the food was significantly better than I could have ever expected. Every meal was art that I felt guilty eating. Every meal included flavor profiles I had never experienced before. Every meal made me sit back after the first bite and just think about the beautiful sensation I ate. My favorite courses (besides everything) was the Breakfast Taco, the Tuna, and the Basque Cheesecake. Not only did these dishes change my opinion about ingredients I previously disliked, but they blew me away with the unique combinations. With this being the first time at an extremely nice restaurant, we were nervous about the portions. However, by the time we finished our outstanding seven course meal, we felt perfectly full and were more than content with our meal. I have never eaten a better meal in my entire life and I am in no way trying to be dramatic. The food was fantastic and am upset that I won't be able to eat it for a long time. Although I'm not expert or NYC common foodie, I can tell you that this was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I am so grateful for the amazing night and I hope to return for another special occasion.”

  “I'm a sort-of tourist from out-of-town. Came here for my birthday, kind of on a dare, wasn't my scene, was misled by things I read on social media and saw on Youtube and Tiktok. It isn't as casual as it was made out to be. I failed to remember rich people have a different understanding of casual compared to someone from flyover country like me. I underestimated how much food would be given. The scent, which you may also smell in Vegas casinos, was overpowering and I immediately felt better when I left. My server Kevin, did a great job, especially upselling alcohol and supplements. The vibe just upset me and wasn't what I was looking for tonight. Doesn't mean this was a bad restaurant, I didn't want to be here. I don't think I'll ever do fine dining again. Even if I win the Mega Millions.”

  “I've been here twice with the visits being about a year apart. Both visits were great, but between the first and second visits, they changed their menu a bit. There are still the famous favorites like the breakfast taco and the caviar handroll, but there's so much food on the tasting menu. For example, the beef course was actually beef three ways, so it was like three separate courses! You will definitely get plenty of food and wine. The flavors were really creative. The service was knowledgeable, and our sommelier put a lot of care in describing the wines, their background, etc. Just one note for him - he shouldn't squat at the side of the table when engaging the customers. It takes away from his presence. Overall, though, I've enjoyed my experiences at this restaurant and highly recommend it. And yes, you must get the caviar handroll.”

  “Excellent meal, every course tasted great and was inventive. The breakfast taco and bread course stood out. Nice and friendly service. The middle two kitchen counter seats were the best in the house to see all the action.”

  “Came here for dinner, this restaurant has been on our list for months. First and foremost i will say the atmosphere and service was 10/10. Very tentative staff and explained every dish with great detail and passion. Now for the food itself… the food was just OK. Every course just failed to hit the OMG factor in terms of taste. Presentation of the food was great but whats the point if it tastes just OK. I will however say the cheesecake was phenomenal and special! But overall, we came in with higher expectations on the food (since it was Michelin rated) and it was not met.”
