About Doc's Sunset Grille
On W Pier St in Oxford, Doc's Sunset Grille is a crab restaurant with tables set along the waterfront and a deck overlooking the water. A rooftop bar sits above the main dining deck, giving upstairs seating its own water views. The menu runs from crab cakes and fish tacos to steamed spiced shrimp, Maryland crab soup, and prime rib, alongside a watermelon salad and gazpacho. Bar seating is available, with bartenders doubling as servers for those tables. The restaurant takes walk-ins rather than reservations, and outdoor tables can carry a wait. It opens Wednesday through Sunday and stays closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

“Comfortable outdoor seating with view of the water. The Gazpacho was good even though it could have used a little more hot sauce. The Fish Tacos and Prime Rib were also very good. However, the gazpacho was $22! There wasn't a price on the menu for the soups, but we assumed it would be half that. Except for that surprise, we enjoyed our dinner.”

“Great service and the best view ever!!! Such a hot day but the AC and fans were perfect. Beers ice cold! Eric took care of us at the bar. He was great. Crab cake so good. Spiced perfectly! Chicken tenders were so meaty and tasty. Ordered the ranch. Loved it!!! Can't wait to go back and enjoy the outside deck bars!”

Customer Review Summary
Water views draw the most consistent praise, with reviewers repeatedly citing sunset views from the rail, the rooftop, and tables right on the water. Close behind, crab and seafood dishes stand out, including full crabs, Maryland crab soup, shrimp tacos, and steamed spiced shrimp, alongside the fish tacos, prime rib, and a crab cake described as spiced perfectly. Several also mention the bar service and cold beer favorably, though one reviewer found their beer not cold enough and felt service slowed after food arrived, with no follow-up and an unpleasant interaction when flagging down the check. Pricing draws some pushback too, with one diner surprised by a twenty-two dollar bowl of gazpacho not listed on the menu, and another calling the spot a little pricy. A gluten-free diner noted limited options, needing the rockfish made GF without its usual sauce. One reviewer flagged jellyfish near the water. Diners describe returning on repeat trips specifically for the sunset view.
