  “80's themed coffee shop with modern coffee flavors. Nice atmosphere and pretty popular with the customers (it was packed). The baristas worked like a machine behind the counter, made sure to leave a tip for their hard work.”

  “A café with an extremely retro, hippie-inspired interior and so many visual details packed into one space. I did not expect to see such a long line, but there was so much to look at that the 10-minute wait never felt boring. I basically spent the whole time staring at random decorations. The menu is genuinely interesting too. Almost every drink sounds like something you would rarely find at another café, and I wanted to try all of them. From the conversation behind us, it sounded like quite a few people regularly come here to buy their coffee beans as well. Menu at the end. 👉 The Ghostly Trio ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ ($6.25) A salty-sweet latte, and so good. It was slightly sweeter than I usually prefer, but the savory miso flavor created this addictive sweet-and-salty balance. The coffee itself was good too. The sesame stayed subtle, appearing faintly in the background rather than taking over the entire drink. The flavors were especially noticeable while it was still hot, and the milk foam was beautifully textured. 👉 Cool but Rude ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨ ($6.25) Such an unusual drink. It genuinely tastes like a curry latte. It was also fairly sweet, but still within an enjoyable range. The first sip starts with cinnamon and coffee, while the curry spices linger in your mouth afterward. It sounds strange, but the flavors do not clash at all. Somehow, the espresso, milk, cinnamon, and curry work together surprisingly well. So weird, and I loved it. Definitely worth trying.”

  “Great lattes, mediocre service. The latte selection is pretty cool, and the place is spacious and a chill place to hang or get some work done. I appreciate the various outlets throughout the cafe. However, service is lackluster. Last time I came here, I had lovely interactions with the staff. Sadly, however, my recent experience here left a bad taste in my mouth. I attempted to grab the cinnamon shaker on the counter, which is pretty standard for most coffee shops, and one of the baristas proceeds to shout at me and says that I have to ask next time…I thought the way he approached this was uncalled for and, if they don’t want people grabbing it, then they should not leave it in the front or put a sign that says to not touch. Anyways, I’m not sure I’ll be back. Unfriendly staff ruined it for me.”

  “I was looking for things to do in Chicago. I came across this place and thought how could I miss the opportunity to stop and have coffee and enjoy everything 80's. The decor is great but the Vanilla Latte that I had was even better. It was so smooth and was served at a drinkable temperature. I enjoyed every last drop of the latte. My wife had a Chi tea and also enjoyed that. That staff were very friendly, they had a great handle on the customers that were in the store and really wanted to take care of them. Overall, it was worth seeking this location out. Great staff even though they were busy.”

  “Used to love coming to wormhole - super cool vibe, art, stuff like that, and I always thought the staff was friendly. Favorite drink was the figgy stardust. I come here fairly often to study but my most recent experience was demeaning. The other day, I came in and ordered a figgy stardust and a donut, the barista was kind enough to give me an extra donut for free because I initially ordered two but reverted to one. It was super nice of him and he was so kind so I tipped him $5 cash. He wasn't looking when I did, not that I thought it mattered. I went in today and after ordering I selected no tip on the screen, I understand it's good to tip, but I also understand that it's not exactly expected and required, especially considering I'm just a college student trying to get his coffee fix - I'm not exactly overflowing with cash. After I checked out, the barista who I tipped last time straight up appeared out of thin air all upset and said something along the lines of "come on man that's not cool I hooked you up last time, are you for real." I didn't pick up on the fact that he was referencing my "no tip" option at first but regardless, I think it's incredibly rude to call out a customer for not tipping when we're talking about a coffee shop. Moreover, it's so rude to call someone out for not tipping in front of other customers, as if everyone is financially secure enough to always leave a tip. Tips are for really really good service and are absolutely not the norm. I appreciated his service last time so I tipped him $5. It's also not the only time I've ever tipped at wormhole. His lack of awareness does not justify him coming at me like I committed this great injustice. It just irks me the wrong way because if I was someone with significantly less financial security just looking for coffee as a simple treat, then I would hate to be called out for not tipping over a $6.50 latte. Please be nicer to your other customers, and wormhole, you should pay your baristas better if they really rely on tips that much. Probably won't come back but it's okay cause I can just go to Allez.”

  “This café is quirky in the best way walls adorned with retro memorabilia, robot-like coffee cups, and a casual energy that’s instantly disarming. Behind the fun is serious craft. Their flat white was silky, with a fine layer of crema and a smooth finish. The staff were warm and genuine, making the place feel like a second home rather than a novelty. It’s perfect for a relaxed afternoon stop, quirky brainstorming session, or anyone craving coffee with personality and a friendly buzz that invites more than just caffeine.”

  “It’s a fun little cafe, the counter at the window needed a wipe down and the place looked like it needed one. But the coffee was good. The vibes were good. They carry Beacon donuts, which I absolutely love, but did not get any this time around.”

  “Phenomenal all around. Super cool retro sci-fi atmosphere with awesome decor all around. Drinks have all been incredible - have been slowly making my way through the latte menu. Favorites so far are the Ghost Trio (super unique, savory latte) and Koopa Troopa (ever wanted dessert for breakfast?). A go-to spot in the Wicker Park area, Chicago at-large, and on my all-time list of favorite coffee shops. Somewhere I would (and have) go out of my way to grab a cup.”
