About Drink happy thoughts Humboldt
Drink happy thoughts Humboldt is a coffee shop in Chicago, set along West North Ave with a menu that spans a broad range of items and a mains range reflected in its varied offerings. Much of its character comes from a drink lineup that pairs coffee with tea and specialty options, giving it a broad appeal beyond a single focus. The Cold Brew and an Iced Latte anchors the coffee program, while Honey Honey and the Milk Tea round out the menu with non-coffee choices. The space supports both quick takeaway orders and longer stays for laptop work or casual seating.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers consistently single out the inventive, uniquely flavored coffee drinks, with the Butter Me Up cold brew and the Marry Me Mel latte named as favorites. The shop skews toward sweeter palates, and several mention returning to work through the full roster of signature beverages. Food also draws praise, specifically the chorizo and cheese empanada, the spinach and cheese empanada with its green dipping sauce, and a pesto breakfast sandwich. The atmosphere is described as chill and energetic, often accompanied by a DJ set, and the staff and owner are repeatedly called friendly. The main caveat is cost, as one reviewer found an eight-ounce latte too steep for the area, and another received a smoothie that was not cold. For those with a sweet tooth, reviewers suggest arriving early for donuts, adding an extra espresso shot to the drinks, and asking for the honey bear-shaped cups.

“Loved this coffee shop! The chorizo and cheese empanada were delicious, especially with the sauce on the side. Breakfast sandwich with pesto was perfectly toasted and toppings balanced nicely. I tried the “banana pancake” coffee, which was not too sweet and very creamy! My friend tried the “butter me up”, which was delicious. I would recommend getting an extra shot of espresso with the drinks!”
