About Document Coffee Bar

Document Coffee Bar is a minimalist cafe on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, pairing an easygoing atmosphere with occasional art nights. The coffee program leans on approachable classics, with the Document Latte standing as the signature drink alongside a popular Iced Coffee and a Macchiato. Pastries round out the menu, which spans a modest range of mains and drinks suited to a quick stop or a longer stay. The space works well for laptop sessions, with a calm setup that supports focused work between refills. Art nights give the cafe a community-facing role beyond the daily coffee service, adding a creative layer to its minimalist setting.

Customer Review Summary

Reviewers consistently single out the specialty coffee at Document Coffee Bar, with the nurungji latte, document cold brew, and cappuccino earning repeated praise for their distinct, well-balanced flavors. A plain black coffee and a flat white with oat milk also impress. The modern, artistic interior covered in portraits and the large rear parking lot are close behind as draws. However, multiple reviewers flag the space as unsuitable for working or long visits, citing small tables, minimal seating, no Wi-Fi, and no outlets. A significant complaint centers on a vanilla latte ordered with no ice that arrived almost half empty at full price with no effort from staff to resolve it, leaving that reviewer annoyed. A few also find the drinks pricey. Several reviewers recommend the spot for a quick grab-and-go visit rather than a lingering stay, closing on the note that the cappuccino delivers thick, rich foam with espresso that hits just right.

Document might be one of the best cafes i have ever been to. Nurungji latte and document cold brew were fantastic. Also love the interior, very artistic and cute. 100% need to comeback with my husband and kids.

The coffee tastes weak — maybe as a function of the 20oz cup size — but the nurungji had a beautifully toasted flavor profile. This cafe is good for yapping and not to work, especially because the tables are small and I don’t think they have WiFi.

Service is great 👍 Quick, polite, and attentive. Bathrooms are clean and plenty of spaces to sit indoors and outdoors. Variety of caffeine and non caffeine options. Also a large parking lot in the rear of the building. Cons: no wifi, no outlets. So if you're looking for a work from wifi situation, may want to consider elsewhere.

A very nice interior design paired with delicious coffee. The style is modern and trendy. I like this place, and if you want to enjoy an LA-style coffee vibe, you should swing by.

I’ve truly never experienced anything like this in my life at a coffee shop. I ordered a vanilla latte to-go with no ice, and the staff mentioned it might be “a bit less,” so I said okay. But I never imagined it would be this little. The cup was almost half empty. The photo shows exactly what I received. Yes, it was no ice, but that should not mean the drink is drastically reduced while still charging full price. I’ve had plenty of no-ice drinks at many cafés and nowhere has ever served something this small. There was no clear explanation about how little it would actually be, and they didn’t make any effort to fix it either. Instead of enjoying my coffee, I just left annoyed and disappointed. This was a terrible experience. Definitely a 1-star review and I won’t be coming back.
