Quick info
About Palm Court Pavilion
Palm Court Pavilion is a cafe-bistro in Worthing, set in a renovated bowling-green pavilion in Beach House Park and listed at 55 Lyndhurst Rd. Meals are served in a marquee that is heated when the weather calls for it, and the end opens up to let air through when it is hot. Breakfast includes eggs Benedict, and afternoon tea comes with finger sandwiches, scones and cakes, plus a warm quiche and a warm sausage roll. The drinks list runs to prosecco and espresso martini. Dogs are welcome, so walkers can stop in with them. Tables can be booked online, and the space is large enough for bigger groups, with large group bookings taken the same way. The pavilion also operates as a wedding venue.

Customer Review Summary
Afternoon tea draws the most mentions, and reviewers split sharply on it. Fans call it delicious and varied, singling out warm quiche and a warm sausage roll alongside the finger sandwiches, and one swapped prosecco for an espresso martini. Two diners describe the opposite: dry scones, dry lemon and Victoria sponge, sandwich bread gone hard on the outside, and barely warm coffee. Both say staff did not check back until late or at all, and one reports a long wait for a manager who did not apologise and said everything was made fresh that morning. That reviewer also says they overheard a neighbouring customer complain of mould on her cheese. Breakfast earns close praise, with hot full English plates, eggs Benedict and American pancakes with maple syrup, plus clean toilets and friendly staff. A wedding party calls the team efficient, and a large group got hot breakfasts while staff opened the end of the marquee to let air through.

“We booked a table of 17 for breakfast not pre ordered and every breakfast that came out was hot and superbly served our whole experience was first class. It started to get quite hot in the marquee, again this was no problem at all they opened the end up to let air through checking on every other guest not in our party to make sure this was ok top class food top class service thankyou everyone for your great service.”

“Palm court pavilion. We went this afternoon for an afternoon tea priced at £35. The bread was very dry and so was the lemon and Victoria sponge cake. Like it had been left out of an air tight container for hours. We were table checked after we had finished what we were able to eat(table checking should be done within the first five minutes of bringing the customer their meal not 20 minutes later) We asked to speak to the manager and the manager took 10 minutes to come. The manager didn’t even apologise and just told us that everything was made fresh this morning. You would’ve thought if you’re paying £35 for an afternoon tea that it would be made up 10 minutes before you are due to arrive. We heard a customer on the table next to us complaining to a waitress that her cheese had mould on it! Customer service, absolutely shocking. Won’t ever be returning! 😡”

“Incredible wedding venue!!! We had the perfect day and evening for our recent wedding. Seamus and Rachel and their team were amazing in the lead up and on the day, so friendly and efficient and made the day run so smoothly, if there were 10 stars it still wouldnt be enough !! Highly recommend and all our guests felt the same, particularly how good the food was ❤️”

“Visited this little hidden gem earlier today for an afternoon tea that was gifted to me as a birthday present. Staff were super friendly and such a lovely atmosphere and food the afternoon tea was delicious. But while dining seeing the lunch food come out it looked amazing. I will definitely be revisiting 100%”
