About The Orchard

The Orchard is a cafe in Worcester, based at the Worcester Countryside Centre and open daily, daytime only. Dogs are welcome both indoors and out, and the team keeps dog treats and dog sausages on hand, so a dog can join the visit rather than wait at home. The kitchen runs an all day breakfast menu with a cooked breakfast, and the smash burger comes with wedges. A cake display holds the sweet selection. Seating combines booths around the outside of the room with tables in the middle, and a woodland walk sits nearby for before or after a meal. The cafe supports St Richard's Hospice.

Customer Review Summary

Dog friendliness is the most repeated draw, with dogs welcome inside and out and dog sausages and treats on offer. Food comes close behind: diners praise the cooked breakfast, mushrooms on sourdough, teriyaki salmon bowl, jacket potatoes and a flavourful smash burger, plus a great cake display and a delicious kids hot chocolate. Staff are called friendly and prompt, and reviewers note good choices for vegetarians. Kitchen consistency draws the complaints. One reviewer describes a sausage and egg sandwich with grossly undercooked sausage on stale white bread, another found thick wedges hardly cooked through and covered in oil, and a third noted bacon toasties with hardly any bacon. One reviewer called the server inside rude and dismissive, and another found it boiling in a heatwave with no fans. One diner gave all the food to the next table.

“I appreciate that today you were very busy, but thats no excuse to send out undercooked food. That was probably the most disgusting sausage and egg sandwich Ive ever had, grossly undercooked sausage on stale white bread and you have the nerve to charge £7.80 for it. You certainly wont get me again!”

“Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and it wasn't very busy. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff but was absolutely boiling during the heatwave, no fans to have a little breeze. We had to remind our server that we asked for tap water for the table 20 mins after. The smash burger was nice, not a lot of meat but lots of flavour, the wedges that came with it though were giant, literally a jacket potato cut into 4 (2 jackets worth in total) with minimal seasoning. For the price I expected different. The bacon toasties also had hardly any bacon. A pleasant place with lots of parking, maybe best to go when the weather has cooled down a bit 🌞”

“We were outside so can’t really comment on the atmosphere but the food was AWFUL, my partner ordered 3 sausage rolls and 3 wedges, £28! I wouldn’t have minded but the wedges were so thick they were hardly cooked through and COVERED in oil. The staff serving outdoors were lovely, but the one inside was rude and dismissive. Won’t be using again for food. I gave all the food to the next table.”

“What a delightful, bright and spacious cafe that's open to the general public, families and staff! Well worth a visit - the jacket potatoes are fabulous for lunch too. It was a pleasure to support St Richard's Hospice. I'll be back....”

“We came for lunchtime on a Sunday. The menu had great options. Food came quickly with good portions and was very tasty. Drinks were large/ good value, especially kids hot chocolate (which was delicious!). There’s a great cake selection and lovely cake display. Service was friendly and prompt. It’s dog friendly. There are booths around the outside and tables in the middle. There’s also takeaway available - queue and order outside at a hatch.”
