About Tea House In The Woods
Tea House In The Woods is a family-run restaurant on Coronation Rd in Woodhall Spa, set among the trees off the town's high street. Every table carries a teapot holding fresh flowers. Afternoon tea comes with scones and clotted cream, and a full menu runs beyond it for anyone wanting a proper meal. The kitchen aims to use local produce, and the owners bring decades of hotel and restaurant experience to the food and the service. A complimentary bottle of water is brought to each table. Dogs are welcome, and the staff are used to having them in the room. The restaurant sits next door to a cinema.

Customer Review Summary
Afternoon tea draws the most praise, with reviewers singling out the ham sandwich, a scone fresh and warm from the oven, clotted cream, carrot cake, and a lemon posset with berry compote. Close behind are the fish finger sandwiches and dinner dishes like the Mixed Bean Chilli and Thai Green Curry Gnocchi, which arrived with a separate bowl of fresh vegetables. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, and a few note they are welcoming to dogs. The woodland setting and decor also earn mentions, along with a complimentary bottle of water at the table. The main criticism comes from one couple who found the pork chop and the chicken and chorizo kebab overcooked, dry and chewy, though they still enjoyed the flavour and the dessert. One reviewer suggests booking well in advance. Another notes the bill payer gets a chocolate at the till.

“First time here in Woodhall Spa and Lincolnshire for that matter so I googled nice places to eat and visit. I saw this lovely tea house and thought wow that looks lovely with rich history. On entry to the establishment, it was lovely decorated and very busy, the staff were so friendly and welcoming which made our visit good at the very start. The food choices were lovely, before visiting I had an idea that it would solely be a tea house and that’s what we were expecting. So I was surprised there was a full menu with loads of options. My husband had the pork chop and I had the chicken& chorizo kebab, although the food was lovely and presented well we did find the food a little too well cooked, dry and chewy. The meat from my kebab was tough, but was delicious. My husbands pork was the same. The food wait time was so quick too, so no complaints. The dessert was lovely and fresh too. We would certainly come back to this restaurant if we are in the area again:)”

“We’d just been to the cinema next door and decided to finish the evening with a meal here, and we’re so glad we did. Everything was excellent from start to finish. We had the Mixed Bean Chilli with saffron rice and the Thai Green Curry Gnocchi, both of which were absolutely delicious. A lovely surprise was that both dishes came with a separate bowl of fresh vegetables, which was a really nice touch and something you don’t often see. Our daughter had the children’s Fish & Chips, which she thoroughly enjoyed. The drinks were served lovely and cold, the food arrived on hot plates (always appreciated), and everything was cooked and presented really well. The venue itself is beautiful, with a lovely picturesque setting and a really relaxing atmosphere. The staff were friendly and service was excellent. We’ll definitely be back and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in a lovely location.”

“This was our second visit, and we were just as impressed as the first. The decor is beautiful, with thoughtful touches such as the soft furnishings and charming teapots filled with fresh flowers on each table. The seating is extremely comfortable, and it was a lovely surprise to find a fresh glass bottle of water already waiting on the table. The food was outstanding once again, but what really stood out was the exceptional service. Every member of staff was attentive, polite, professional, friendly, and incredibly efficient. A special mention goes to Simon, who looked after us on both this visit and our last. He was particularly friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and his excellent service really helped make both experiences memorable. Despite the restaurant being very busy, we noticed that no one had to wait long to be seated, and our food arrived surprisingly quickly. Everything was served with a smile, making the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. Overall, another fantastic visit. The combination of excellent food, beautiful surroundings, and first-class service makes this a place we would highly recommend, and we will definitely be returning.”
