Customer Review Summary

Breakfast is the clear draw here, with reviewers repeatedly praising cooked-to-order options, from a set meal with coffee and toast to poached eggs with runny yolks, black pudding, and the New York Breakfast with waffles and golden syrup. Several note the kitchen will adjust to taste, cooking sausages or bacon exactly as requested. Portions are described as generous and prices as reasonable, with more than one reviewer flagging good value alongside promptly served food and coffee. Staff come up often as welcoming, polite, and friendly, and the space itself is noted as clean, including the toilets. One longtime regular describes the building as cavernous with high ceilings and large windows that can make it chilly in winter, though they note a coat solves it. Reviewers otherwise report consistently positive repeat visits, with one saying they will "100% be ordering again soon."

We visit this cafe a couple of times each month. Now we are known we usually get a friendly greeting. Britannia Café is a cavernous space in the corner of an old building with high ceilings and large plate glass windows on two sides which can make it a little chilly in the winter. But a coat sorts that out. It's not THAT cold. The food is good café-style grub at reasonable prices and the service is generally friendly. The place is kept clean, including the loos - always an important factor in a place serving food. Always happy to visit.

Went in for breakfast early on a Saturday morning and ordered a set meal, coffee and toast. Everything arrived quickly and they'll cook things to your taste, so if you like your sausages well done or bacon extra crispy, just ask. …

How this listing is sourced

Where the data comes from
Name, address, hours, contact details, amenities, ratings and review counts come from the business's publicly available profile data — not from the owner and not from paid submissions.
How it stays current
Every listing is re-checked on a recurring crawl, and anything reported as wrong is corrected at the source rather than patched on the page.
How it is ranked
Placement is never sold. Every business on the page is ordered and compared using the same public signals, so an owner cannot pay to move up.
