“Went for dinner, the pork belly was cooked perfectly. My partner is vegan, so the vegan menu is extensive (not common in pubs) and executed well - she had the cottage pie. Delicious. Nice downstairs area with good music too. Will be back soon for sure”

“Wow what an amazing weekend here in bowness on windermere.we stayed at the westmorland inn friday to monday. We came to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary and my birthday on the Saturday. This place is so cosy and nice an perfect for what we needed. The pub down stairs is lovely all the staff are so friendly an welcoming. Always happy to chat. We had a meal in the restaurant too. And it was the most amazing food ive had in a long time absolutely beautiful. The room we had was room 3 and it was cosy and the bed was so comfortable and huge too. We are very happy with the time we spent here and was perfect for us. Location is brilliant too for buses down to the pier or to surrounding areas. We went on a few outings. To orrest head, ambleside, windermere, and hired a boat on the lake and had a picnic lunch out on the water with the spectacular scenery. Thank you to everyone at the west moorland. And we are planning a return trip again for next year 😃.”

“Myself and husband came today for food. We could not fault the food one bit, I had the beef burger which was very thick, juicy and full of flavour, the chunky cheeks were also beautiful and I'm more of a skinny chip kind of person! My husband had the beef roast, the beef was cooked beautifully and I swear the Yorkshire pud was the biggest I've ever seen on a roast! We both thoroughly enjoyed our food, the only criticism I have is I was served food on a chipped plate.. not the end of the world, but the chips were pretty large, not just little chips.. I understand it happens, of course I do.. I just don't think serving such lovely food on chipped plates is the best practice. We will be back though, we have a flat in the lakes so it's a home from home! Extra bonus that you have all the three flavours of Thatchers cider on tap 👌🏼 Many thanks.”
