“I’m extremely disappointed to be writing this review because I’ve always enjoyed Dough in the past. In fact, I bring all of my staff here every year for our annual work do, and we’ve never had a bad experience before. That’s why what happened on my birthday was so shocking. When we arrived, we were seated downstairs and given menus before being told we’d been seated in the wrong place and needed to move upstairs. Once we’d settled upstairs, we were then told we had to go back downstairs. When we understandably said we didn’t want to keep moving around, we were told it would cost an extra £2.50 per person to stay upstairs because of the “live music” – despite it lasting around 20 minutes at most. The biggest issue was the bottomless brunch itself. Our drinks service was stopped around 20 minutes before our booking was due to end, leaving us sat with empty glasses for around 30 minutes of the experience. We had to challenge this before we were eventually brought another round, meaning we’d lost a significant amount of the time we’d paid for. What upset us most, however, was the attitude of the staff. After we questioned why our drinks had been stopped early, staff members were sniggering, laughing and talking about us while we were still there. It made us feel incredibly uncomfortable and completely unwelcome on what was supposed to be a birthday celebration. Before leaving, we spoke to the manager in person to give the restaurant the opportunity to resolve things. Unfortunately, all we received was a vague apology and no real acknowledgement of what had happened or any attempt to put things right. I then followed this up with a detailed email, hoping someone from management would respond. It’s now been over a week and I’ve still not received so much as an acknowledgement. I rarely leave negative reviews and always prefer to raise concerns directly first, which I did both in person and by email. Sadly, the complete lack of customer service since then has been just as disappointing as the experience itself. It’s such a shame because this was somewhere I regularly recommended and somewhere I trusted enough to bring all of my staff every year. Unfortunately, after the way we were treated and the lack of response afterwards, I won’t be returning.”

“Charlotte and Frankie are amazing! They give the best service and are a credit to the team! Had a spectacular time and they deserve a special mention. Well done girls 🩷”

“I had a takeaway tonight, very expensive for what it is. I had a “properoni” pizza, and there’s nothing proper about it. Gristly, bits of bone in the sausage, the dough was rubbish, and they pump it so full of garlic it’s basically garlic bread with a smidge of tomato and loads of cheap quality cheese. Would never order from them again - pizza shouldn’t repeat on you in the way this does.”

“Spacious modern venue. Starters took 25 minutes eventhough there were only two other couples in. One of which were eating their mains when we ordered. Had a starter each and shared a pizza with chips.”
