Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the prawn curries, from the Kashmiri king prawns with exotic fruit and the king prawn vindaloo to the Wild Spencer prawn curry with coconut rice. Close behind are the friendly, welcoming staff and the food described as full of flavour, with the curries, breads and vegetarian dishes called delicious and well presented. Drinks and the relaxed, cozy surroundings also earn praise. The criticism is about execution. One diner found the Murgh masala made with chopped pieces of chicken carcass rather than off the bone chicken and almost no lamb mince in the sauce. Another called the Jhura Gosht lamb only ok, found the saffron rice neither looking nor tasting of saffron, and felt the staff were too aggressively welcoming. Several mention takeaway or late arrivals handled well, and one says a dish missed from a collection order was delivered to their home.

“Service was excellent and cannot fault the attentiveness of the front of house staff at all. Restaurant was quiet at the time of the visit so atmosphere was relaxed and all customers present were well looked after. Food left a lot to be desired, in particular the Murgh masslamain course which rather than off the bone chicken was part of a chicken carcass chopped up and thrown in the source. It was clear there was very little (if any) spiced lamb mince in the source either. Flavour was fine but fell short on quality of content. Will be the last time I visit this establishment which is a shame as visited a number of times before over the years and had been fine...”

“Food is really good and we get takeaway regularly. On a recent occasion one of our dishes were accidentally missed out when we collected. They went above and beyond and delivered the dish to us!”

“I’ve never been a big curry person, but Lasan completely changed my mind. No matter what your taste is, you’ll definitely find something you’ll love. This has become my husband’s and my favourite date night spot. The drinks menu is fantastic, the food is consistently delicious, and the service is always friendly and welcoming. My husband loves trying something new every visit, but I can never resist my favourite – the Wild Spencer prawn curry with coconut rice. It’s absolutely amazing every single time. We’ve never had a bad experience here, and it’s one of those places we always look forward to coming back to. Highly recommended”
