  “A really friendly restaurant. We felt that our fish could have been cooked for a but longer but my dessert was delicious as was everything else. Staff were very friendly & accommodating. The chairs are a tad low, so as you sit, brace yourself to go that extra bit lower. Good value for money. Did I say the meringue pie was heavenly:-)”

  “Visiting Southend, a friend had recommended The Estuary to us. After a long day of sightseeing, we were welcomed by their friendly staff. The menu offers a nice selection of dishes and drinks. We had the fish and chips with garden peas and skewered seafruit. Both dishes were delicious and definitely on point. Even though the terrace was moderately busy, we didn't have to wait very long to be served. All in all, I would say the experience comes at a moderate expense, but the price is definitely fair for the quality. And I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're looking for a decent dinner when visiting Southend.”

  “Wow food was delicious well priced and fresh we had tiger prawns garlic and sweet chilli sauce with curly frilled and cheesy garlic bread and a child’s fish and chips. Served quickly nice view too”

  “Unfortunately not a good dining experience. We were not told til after we had ordered and received our drinks that the kitchen was shutting 5 minutes later. We ordered food, which for me was chicken skewers which came with 2 sides, so I requested 2 portions of curly fries - the chicken wasn’t on skewers, with very little flavour and a small portion of chips. Food was very disappointing. Staff however were nice.”

  “The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered a starter and the paella as our main course. One portion of paella is easily enough for two people — it was generous and incredibly tasty. We sat down at our table, but it was dirty. We asked a waiter if they could wipe it down for us, but no one ever came to clean it. In the end, we had to do it ourselves.”

  “My partner, Alex, took me here for my birthday breakfast yesterday, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience, especially considering we spent around £45–£50. Several items on both breakfasts were overcooked or burnt, including the sausages, tomatoes, bubble and squeak, and even the toast. The scrambled eggs were particularly disappointing and tasted as though they had been microwaved rather than freshly prepared. To make matters worse, despite Alex booking a table in advance, we were seated at the back of the restaurant next to a storage area. My chair was positioned right beside the entrance to this area, which meant staff were regularly passing by and it didn’t feel like a comfortable or appropriate place to celebrate a birthday breakfast. Overall, the quality of the food and the seating arrangement did not reflect the price paid, and the experience fell well below our expectations.”

  “A rather disappointing meal. Grilled cod meal was all dry and not hot, so has probably been sitting too long before it was served and hubby had to send his burnt burger back for a fresh replacement, which was much better and as it should have been first time around. Staff were nice, but will not be returning.”

  “food was yummy, a nice breakfast. sitting outside was lovely and the staff were really lovely; however the inside didn’t look too nice, especially for sitting by the seaside it looked quite dark in there. if you can sit outside definitely do that!”

  “We went today for a birthday lunch celebration and we had a fantastic time. We were a party of 7 and they had no issue accommodating us. The service from the waitresses was impeccable and they were very attentive. The food was very delicious and they were generous with the portions. This will definitely be a place we will revisit again. Thank you”

  “Turned up 50 minutes early for lunch booking, and they were able to accommodate our table of 4 which was much appreciated. Huge menu, friendly service and tasty food in generous portions. Look forward to returning.”
