About I-Naga
I-Naga is an Indian restaurant on Croydon Road in West Wickham, with table service from waiting staff and a menu shaped around the familiar curry house range. Starters cover onion bhaji, Bombay aloo, mushroom bhaji and King Prawn Puri, while the main courses run from Chicken Madras and Chicken Vindaloo through to lamb dansak, sided with peshwari naan, pilau rice or special rice. A banqueting menu sits alongside the à la carte for larger groups, and a dine-in special runs on Tuesdays and Sundays. The room takes walk-ins through the week, with bookings handled separately for those who want one.

Customer Review Summary
Most reviewers praise the food and welcoming staff, singling out the banqueting menu and imaginative dishes. Close behind, several note attentive, friendly service. A few diners, however, describe rude confrontations from the owner or waiters and disappointing portions in lamb dansak and onion bhaji, with one recounting an argument over a wrongly served Chicken Madras. Several suggest trying the Tuesday and Sunday dine-in specials.

“Excellent food and service. My second visit and there will certainly be a third.”

“Excellent interesting Indian food. The usual dishes are all of a very high standard, with great flavours and presentation. The menu also has a wide selection of new and reinvented dishes that are amazing, imaginative and delicious. Service is always great, the waiting staff are friendly, funny and efficient. The banqueting menu is great value”

“Since this restaurant came under new ownership in 2023 it's gone completely downhill. I went for a meal on my birthday and the service was terrible, the waiter was rude to my family so much so I challenged him over it. The food wasn't much better either. It's such a shame this used to be an absolute gem but not anymore”

“The food has always been good, but unfortunately the owner/head chef is incredibly rude, confrontational and unprofessional. After six years of being loyal customers, we’ll never be returning. We visited as a group of eight – four couples enjoying a rare evening together – and one of the main courses wasn’t what had been ordered. We didn’t make a fuss, we didn’t demand a refund, and we weren’t looking for anything for free. We simply pointed out that the dish wasn’t the one we’d ordered. The waiter took it back to the kitchen, but the owner brought it back and insisted the waiter had made a mistake and that the meal was correct. We had ordered both Chicken Madras and Chicken Vindaloo. The disputed dish tasted exactly the same as the other Madras on the table, while the Vindaloo was noticeably hotter and a completely different colour. At that point, it genuinely felt like the owner was trying to pull the wool over our eyes and treat us like idiots instead of simply admitting that a mistake may have been made. Ironically, he even offered us the dish free of charge, yet we told him we were happy to keep it and simply asked to be left alone so we could enjoy the rest of our evening. Instead, he came back to our table and accused us of disrespecting him in his own restaurant. This escalated into a confrontation in front of our friends and a restaurant full of other diners. It was embarrassing, completely unnecessary and entirely unprofessional. No customer should be spoken to like that, especially after trying to resolve a simple issue calmly. What makes this even more disappointing is that we’ve been coming here for at least six years, on average twice a month. We’ve always enjoyed the food and have recommended the restaurant to family and friends. Mistakes happen in every restaurant. That’s understandable. What isn’t acceptable is how the owner chose to deal with it. Instead of listening to loyal customers, he argued, became confrontational and completely ruined what should have been a lovely evening with friends. After six years of loyalty, we expected far better. We won’t be returning, and neither will the friends who were with us. The food may still be good, but customer service and professionalism are just as important, and sadly both were completely absent tonight.”
