About Hideout

Hideout is a tiki cocktail bar at 78 Sankey St in Warrington's cultural quarter, with a large terrace at the back that has a retractable roof and a big screen. Inside, live singers perform, and the evening House music events feature resident DJs. The drinks list includes cocktails such as the mai tai. Groups can book an all-you-can-eat pizza and cocktails package, and a bottomless brunch keeps the drinks flowing. Hen parties, birthdays and wedding celebrations are among the events held here. Door staff work the entrance, and a dress code rules out activewear.

Customer Review Summary

Cocktails are the most frequent draw, with a server's mai tai recommendation called spot on and bar staff described as polite and fast. Close behind are the live singer on a quiet Thursday, the DJ and music choices, and a large back terrace with a big screen. The bottomless brunch earns praise for its food and flowing drinks, one couple describes a wedding celebration where staff delivered everything asked for plus extra touches, and the decor is called cute and atmospheric. One reviewer finds staff don't say much and the prices a little expensive. The sharpest criticism comes from a hen party on the bottomless pizza and cocktails deal. Eleven guests received four pizzas and two drinks each, and a drinks order placed long before still hadn't arrived while they sat in bright sun. Door staff also draw complaints, with one group turned away over a wool jumper with a small football logo while a friend in a football shirt got in. That hen party's complaints at the bar ended with a round of apple shots.

“Went on Saturday for a Hen party, paid £37.50 each for the pizza and cocktails all you can eat and drink. Arrived just before 4pm and got taken to our table outside in the back yard. A drinks order was taken and 2 10 inch pizzas were brought out just after 4 with the drinks. The bride to be arrived just after this and another drinks order was taken. At 4.50pm we still hadn't had the drinks or anymore pizzas. We complained at the bar and they sent another person to take a drinks order and one to take another pizza order. We received the pizzas but still no drinks this went on till 5.30pm and we were all dehydrated sat in the bright sunlight so once again complained at the bar as we had paid for a service which we didn't get. They sent a round of apple shots out and at last a round of drinks we had ordered an hour and a half before. So in 2 hours we had 4 pizza's between 11 of us, and 2 drinks each, total waste of money. The only good thing was the DJ and choices of music. Would not recommend.”

“We had an amazing time at the bottomless brunch! The food was absolutely delicious, the drinks kept flowing, and the atmosphere was fantastic from start to finish. A special mention has to go to our waitress, Claire. She was incredibly friendly, attentive, and made sure our glasses were never empty. Her warm personality and excellent service really made the experience extra special. If you’re looking for a fun bottomless brunch with great food, fantastic drinks, and outstanding service, I couldn’t recommend this place more. We’ll definitely be back!”

“Visited on 4th April 2026 as designated driver for a group of 7 celebrating a birthday. I was turned away at the door for wearing a wool jumper with a small Manchester United logo, despite it clearly not being activewear by any reasonable definition. I want to be clear, I fully respect dress code policies and was prepared to accept the decision. What made this experience unacceptable was the conduct of the door staff throughout the interaction. When I calmly asked for clarification on why a wool jumper qualified as "activewear," both bouncers became increasingly impatient and dismissive. Rather than de-escalating and clearly explaining their reasoning, their behaviour felt deliberately confrontational, as though they were looking for a reaction rather than trying to resolve the situation professionally. At points it genuinely felt like they were baiting me into responding so they would have grounds to escalate further. That is the opposite of what door staff are there to do. After stepping away from the entrance and expressing frustration quietly to a friend, one bouncer overheard and immediately threatened to radio ahead and have me barred from every venue in town for the rest of the night. This was a clear abuse of the power and authority given to them. I was sober, not aggressive, not rude, and had done nothing beyond asking reasonable questions. Using the town radio system as a threat in that context, against someone who posed no threat whatsoever is an overreach, plain and simple. The threat was then repeated loudly across the street after our group had already left the premises, with one bouncer specifically calling over to me from the door while I was stood well away. There was no justification for this other than to intimidate. Worth noting: one member of our group was wearing an actual football shirt underneath their coat and passed through without any issue. The inconsistency speaks for itself. The entire group left as a result, costing the venue seven customers on what should have been a straightforward birthday night out. I would strongly encourage management to review the these individuals from that evening. The issue here is not the dress code, it is that two members of door staff used their position to intimidate a cooperative, sober customer, escalated a minor situation unnecessarily, and weaponised their authority as a threat rather than a responsibility. That is not professionalism. Proper training and a serious review of their conduct is warranted.”
