About Hong Kong Chinese Takeaway
Hong Kong Chinese Takeaway is a Chinese takeaway in Walsall, serving food for collection rather than a sit-down meal. The menu covers familiar takeaway dishes, including chicken curry with curry sauce, egg fried rice and chow mein. Chips, chicken balls and mini spring rolls sit alongside them for those building a larger order, and prawn crackers are on offer too. The kitchen opens in the evenings only and is closed on Tuesdays. Orders are packed in plastic containers rather than foil ones.

Customer Review Summary
Most positive reviewers praise hot, tasty, fresh food, with chicken curry named most often, alongside chicken balls, chicken wings and a chicken omelette. One delivery arrived before the estimated time, and another reviewer calls the couple running it nice, with the wife taking orders and her husband cooking. Opinion is sharply split, though. Three reviewers describe poor meals: pork like old boot leather, curry sauce like wallpaper paste with lumps, chips that needed chewing, chow mein tasting only of salt, mini spring rolls with no filling, and a special chow with meat that was dry, chewy and cold. One also calls the staff rude. Fried rice is called stodgy and lacking flavour, and another reviewer says the rice and curry sauce containers have shrunk. Several call it costly, while one notes the plastic containers give bigger portions. One satisfied customer found the spicy chips under-seasoned but says the kitchen will add more chilli and garlic when asked.

“After recently moving in the area ive tried a few and this takeaway didnt take my fancy due to reviews but i was recommended here so i thought id try. Tbf i wasnt disapointed, the lady who took the order was nice and her husband cooked. Food was very nice a just what i asked for. Chicken and beef curry, chicken wings (dry), chicken balls, chicken omelete, spicy chips and fried rice. Only issue was the spicy chips which needed more spices, chilli and garlic which maybe a personal preferance and ill say what i like which they will do tbf, the rest was spot on. Will definatly use again”

“Considering how expensive it is we thought it would be decent but o no it’s the worst chinese we have ever had. Pork was like old boot leather, chicken tasted like it been washed in washing up liquid, curry sauce was like wall paper paste with lumps in it. Chips tasted like cardboard and the rice had a weird metal taste to it. Plus the Staff are rude.”
