About Caffe E Vino
Caffe E Vino is an Italian restaurant at 78 Church St in Tewkesbury, run by an Italian family. The kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and evening meals, so the menu covers several parts of the day. Pizzas include the Salsiccia e 'Nduja, and pasta dishes and risotto sit alongside other Italian dishes. Starters include calamari and sardines. Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often point to the pizza and the food overall, with one diner calling the SALSICCIA E 'NDUJA the best pizza they have had, its crust crisp and the dough high quality. Close behind are the pasta with truffles, sardines to start, and an affogato for dessert, plus breakfast eggs and homemade bread. Several praise the friendly, prompt service and an Italian family welcome, and the garden terrace gets repeated mention, including a diner who ate there with their dog. Prices are called fair by several. The criticisms are specific: one reviewer found the sea bass skin soggy with an overly sweet jarred red pepper sauce, and the seafood ravioli overly fishy and not fresh, while the calamari and house Montepulciano drew praise. Another wished for more pasta dishes, though risotto helped make up for it. One reviewer said booking is highly recommended. A missed Friday reservation was rebooked for Saturday with a laugh and no fuss.

“Having had breakfast, we then booked for an evening meal. Authentic Italian restaurant run by an lovely Italian family. Superb delicious freshly cooked food, fair price, exceptional service. Highly recommend.”

“I had calamari for starters which was beautifully tender and had been trimmed properly which was a pleasure to eat. Others rated their starters too. The sea bass was fresh and tasty but the skin had not been cooked so was soggy and the sauce had sweet jarred red peppers in which were too sweet. Others rated the cannelloni but the seafood ravioli tasted overly fishy and not fresh. Overall a 3.5/5. House Montepulciano was excellent for the price.”

“We were in Tewkesbury for the day and called in for lunch on spec. We had a fantastic meal - we ended up having a full lunch as the food was so good - lovely sardines to start, pasta with truffles, then dessert and proper espresso. Lunch menu had an excellent mix of real Italian flavours, and some interesting wines by the glass - would love to go back for dinner one evening. Service was very friendly and prompt, and for what we had, we thought it great value for money. We'll definitely be back.”

“Absolutely gorgeous place with an inside and a stunning garden area too. Friendly, helpful staff and same for the other customers too. Even met a gorgeous little doggy on his morning out with his human mum. Will definitely be back. So nice here.”
