  “Bought chicken and noodle soup yesterday, extra spicy, absolutely DELICIOUS!!!! So good I went back today and ordered more (2 to be precise!). Best in the area above Mulan and Chequers (and I'm a Mulan snob!). The soup is out of this world, very tasty and well seasoned - not 'sludge' like you get in many other Chinese restaurants; this is actually soup like what you get in a noodle bar! I am pleasantly surprised by this place, given it's on one of the biggest s hole estates in stowmarket, it is by far the best thus far.”

  “The food tasted nice to start with until my daughter found metal inside her special fried rice, she had put it in her mouth and bitten down on it. I immediately contacted China City and was told, it’s ok it’s just from the frying pan. It’s fine! No shock reaction just that it’s fine. Which it isn’t! My daughter could have swallowed it. They told me I could have a free special fried rice the next time which I declined because if they think that metal inside food is acceptable I don’t want to be ordering from there again. I asked for a refund and they said if I returned all of the food I could have one which I gladly did. They again apologised and said it was from a metal scourer used to clean the wok and that it wouldn’t happen again. I’m just so shocked that 1 they were not surprised by my phone call as if they knew it was coming and 2 that I was told it’s ok it’s just from the frying pan! This was my first time ordering from here. Never again.”

  “Just had an excellent meal delivered by this outlet, it was hot, on time & very nicely done food & good size portions & pleasant delivery guy. Although I’m not local I will use them again without hesitation”

  “The food was fine… but when we got home, we realized the chicken balls were missing! Annoying, sure, but mistakes happen. So my girlfriend called to let them know, expecting a quick apology and a solution. The woman she spoke to was nice enough, but when she went into the kitchens, there was another woman literally screaming accusing my girlfriend of being a liar! Apparently, the fact that it took us an hour to call was somehow "proof" we were making it up. I didn't realize there was a statute of limitations on missing food. Sorry we didn’t eat our entire order like feral raccoons the moment we left the building. My girlfriend ended the call feeling shocked and humiliated, so I took matters into my own hands and went back to get the missing food. What followed was a painfully awkward cross-examination — I half-expected them to ask for a signed and timestamped photos of our dinner table. Eventually, they handed over the chicken balls — still no apology, just attitude. We’ve supported this place for years, but after being treated like con artists over a handful of chicken, I think it’s time we took our business elsewhere. I want takeaway, not a courtroom drama”

  “Food was dry . I could not eat the chips, they were so hard, and dry. . Main dish was tough I could only eat half a dish. I wasted £16 on food. I phoned at next convenient time and was told she would speak to owner as she did not know where she was and get her to phone me back. I never heard , after a while of waiting I phoned them back, if I hadn’t I doubt I would have even got a phone call back back , and then was told owner was in bed very ill , she then came to the phone, and after a while they said they would give me a free dish but I would have to pay delivery charge. I was then handed to a man who I presume was her partner, as she kept asking if I understood. He tried to say it was because I didn’t like the food, and didn’t really know the menu as to what the dishes were. . I explained I couldn’t eat it all because of the way the quality of food was, In the end I told them to forget it, and told them I would put a bad review on here. This I won’t accept. Last time I use this Takeaway. Staff not at all helpful. I normally use a different Chinese Takeaway but because of time I ordered, I made a mistake and used this one as I saw some good reviews, I now see ones similar to mine. Whilst I was on the phone making complaint, I was even cut off from call. When I phoned back I was told there was an incoming order, I explained they should not cut me off phone as I was still important. So rude. They don’t even show full delivery charges on their menu, only upto a 3 mile radius. Any further you get shocked at charge when you order. Please Think twice before using this Takeaway for Chinese food.”

  “Ordered from China city for a birthday takeaway for my daughter. Waited an hour and 20 mins for the food (told up to an hour), worst still my daughter found hair in the dinner twice! Put her off and she was left still hungry. Expensive for what it is. Needless to say won’t be going back again!”
