  “Haven’t been to Lockside in over a year. Met up with a friend for dinner last night and opted to sit outside. Non of the tables were cleared and remained that way for the entirety of the evening. £17 for a hot dog that didn’t come with chips (despite being told that it did) and looked like it was served in a metal dog bowl. Average at most. Other things missing from the order and a considerable wait. The staff were very young and trying their best but simply could not keep up with what was coming through the door. What was once a higher end establishment with a lovely atmosphere is now somewhat of a youth club. Extremely disappointing giving good previous experiences.”

  “We hired The Fairway for our corporate Summer Party. Kirsty and Erin were absolutely fantastic, nothing was too much trouble for them. We had around 70 guests, with a singer and still had plenty of room in the light bright room. Everyone enjoyed the food, and the venue was great at providing alternatives for dietary requirements. Thank you so much!”

  “We had a great visit to Lockside over the weekend. Friendly staff, they couldn't do enough to accommodate us- special mention for Curtis and the main host (sorry didn't catch your name). Food was great, we enjoyed the fajitas and the burger. Excellent outside area, very relaxing in the sun. Thank you”

  “I attended a good friend's 60th birthday party on Saturday and had a great night. Erin and the team of young people who welcomed and served us never stopped working all night - 12 out of 10! The atmosphere was very relaxing and the buffet of hot and cold food was excellent. Thank you very much.”

  “This weekend I hired the Fairway, the new extension to Lockside. What a venue! The room is bright and airy with wooden beams to the ceiling and huge glass frontage which looks out onto the golf course. It has its own bar, smoking area, outdoor seating area and toilets. All the guests commented on what a stunning venue it was. The staff were very attentive and Kirsty especially was really helpful in sorting out the finer details with me. The food was high quality and presented beautifully. They even catered a separate plate for a gluten free guest. I would highly recommend this venue and wish everyone at the fairway every success.”

  “All the food was delicious ( we taste tested each other's of course). The Noodle broth platter, £50 for two people was delicious. The perfect tasty combination of super-fresh, hot, crisp, sweet, salt, sour, spice and of course the lovely cold pickled salad veg massed by a plentiful supply of fresh prawn crackers. The prawns and pork provided the perfect mouth feel. It's a must try. One person had the fish and chips - the fish looked marvellous and had the lightest crispiest batter, the appearance of which reminded me of the sea itself - choppy frills of wave tops (of batter). The pea puree was lovely. The chicken pie... a masterclass in perfect rich, crisp pastry cuddling the tasty filling. The chips - fresh, crisp on the outside, fluffy in the middle. Not to pass over the starters, the olives were lovely quality as was the parfait served with toast and a delicate pink rhubarb on the side. The service was good and the atmosphere warm. Lots of different customers including a lovely little baby in a highchair. Very happy with our visit here for my birthday. We'll drop by soon.. the Thai night on a Wednesday and Pie Night on a Thursday look particularly enticing. They serve breakfast too. And Sunday lunch. Plenty of young people popping in for a quiet chat and a drink too.”

  “Staying up the road so booked for a meal for 2. Warmly greeted, excellent atmosphere. Clearly a popular local venue. The menu was varoed and the food was delicious. We had a katsu chicken burger and a steak pie. The pie was homemade with melt in the mouth pastry. Would have no hesitation in recommending to anyone.”

  “The team has done a marvellous job and hat off to the chef. I can tell the food was aimed to be done to perfection. Even down to the tartare sauce! Unfortunately my pouched cod was too salty but every, I mean Everything was fantastic!!! Emily was a very good staff, friendly and genuinely want the best for the business! Will definitely be back in no time!”
