Customer Review Summary

Reviewers most often return for the curries, with the Lamb Green Masala singled out as the highlight of one meal, and the Kismet Tandoori Kori Massala, described as rich, and the butter chicken also praised. Close behind are the starters, where onion bhaji, meat samosas, lamb shish kebab and fresh, hot poppadoms with lovely chutneys come up. Several call the service friendly and say staff went out of their way, and a long-time regular describes being treated like part of the family. Portions are called good compared to other places in the area, prices reasonable, and a couple of vegan options are noted. Several say the place is always busy and suggest booking in advance. The complaints centre on takeaway and delivery. One reviewer received a soggy naan and chips dripping in grease after asking for well done and crispy, and had to re-cook the naan and throw the chips away. Another says delivery took over an hour. One reviewer was refused cash on delivery and told egg fried rice was not available, and said the music was blaring. One diner mentions a wobbly chair, and a reviewer after a long gap found the food as good as remembered.

“I have always held the Kismet in very high regard and after not visiting for some time I decided to book a table for my anniversary. We were welcomed on arrival and promptly sat at our table. As for the food we both had poppadoms, onion bhaji and meat samosas which were very nice. For main I ordered the Kismet Tandoori Kori Massala which was very rich as stated on the menu and made a nice change to my usual go to curry. My partner had the butter chicken curry and said this was excellent also. We shared rice and both had a naan and were definitely stuffed!! The portion sizes were also very good compared to other places in the area. The service was absolutely excellent from the moment we entered the building to when we left. I will definitely not leave it as long for my next visit and I would definitely recommend Kismet to anyone looking for a decent curry and great service.”

“If I could give 0 stars for customer service I would do! I ask for egg fried rice they say pilau rice? I say no egg fried and thats after i asked him to turn the over powering blaring music down that was playing in the background.. Of which he responded "no i like this". I then ask if its okay to pay cash upon delivery at the door, they said thats not possible i must pay via a bank transfer? I have never heard such shambles in all of my life.. yet after immediately calling another Kismet venue absolutely everything I request was met to my expectations!? So definitely no to this place, Do not order from this Kismet place they are nothing but a mouthful!”

“At last - a very good curry house. After eating many disappointing curries at a multitude of Indian restaurants it was a joy to enjoy an excellent meal at the Kismet where food , service and surroundings perfectly align. If you are in the area then definitely give it a go !”
