About Borge Ristorante
Borge Ristorante is an Italian restaurant in Stockton On Tees, at 50 Yarm Ln, set in a long-established venue with a conservatory room. The menu centres on the chicken parmo, which comes with chips, a salad and coleslaw. Pasta dishes and pizza sit alongside it, and the kitchen also cooks kebabs and an American burger with pulled pork and beef. Garlic mushrooms are on the starter list, and cheesecake with pouring cream is among the desserts. The bar team makes cocktails, and a function room hosts parties for groups. Tables can be booked.

Customer Review Summary
Chicken parmo is the draw most reviewers return to, with the hot shot version praised for its generous size, the right amount of cheese and bechamel, and chips crispy outside and soft inside. Several call it the best they have had locally, and one long-time regular says it has been their venue of choice for 35 years. Close behind, garlic mushrooms came out fast and tasted fresh, and an American burger with pulled pork and tender beef drew praise. Others enjoyed salmon ravioli and a spinach and ricotta pasta bake, both in good portions. Staff are described as welcoming and not pushy, and one reviewer's 30th birthday at the bar went down well. The criticism centres on service and seating. One couple felt crammed into a corner, were moved between tables, waited a long time for anyone to ask about drinks, found the cocktails poor and felt hurried out after asking for the bill. A takeaway diner also found the salad past its best. Another diner finished on the cheesecake, praising its pouring cream.

“I had my 30th party here this weekend and it was amazing. The food was unbelievable the vibes were amazing. But Chris and Lucy behind the bar were the best part. They were so lovely and honestly I couldn’t have asked for better people to have been celebrating with me. Thank you for making the night amazing.”

“Booked a table for me and my boyfriend. Tables weren’t spacious whatsoever, felt crammed into a corner we were placed near a massive family party then got moved. Nobody came over to ask if our food was okay. Cocktails were poor. Servers were friendly at the start then just seemed like they hustled you out, we asked for the bill and left. Servers didn’t really have conversation with you asked for a chocolate fudge cake for dessert and proceeded to tell her whether i wanted it with ice cream or cream and she grabbed the menus and went to walk away. Very slow service nobody came to ask if we wanted drinks after being moved around tables for 10 - 15 minutes. Wouldn’t go back, such a shame this used to be our family food place back when i was a kid.”

“Ordered for takeaway. Had the hot shit chicken parmo...it was massive! It was yummy!!! Sadly I was saying at a hotel and could store the left overs so most went into the bin. Came with chips salad and coleslaw. Loads of chips definitely enough for two people. The salad has seen better days. Parts were pinky red so ended up throwing it which was a shame. Would order again”

“If you’re disabled I wouldn’t go here , we had a booking for Saturday night, when we arrived I asked for the disabled toilet, the young waitress told me I would have to use the ones upstairs because the disabled loo was in a function room that was currently in use, now bear in mind I’m stood there with my walking stick, so I said ok, is our table also upstairs (thinking perhaps I could manage the stairs once) she no we were going to be seated downstairs, I pointed out that this simply wouldn’t work for me and she just looked at me with a blank face. My party and I had to find another restaurant, I’m fairly sure it’s illegal to block off use of a disable toilet because of a party and needless to say we won’t be returning to this establishment”
