Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the coffee and baked goods, naming a victoria sponge, banoffee pie and home made scones, with a dirty chai and french toast also singled out. Close behind are the hot meals, with fish and chips, daily soup specials, a burger and chips, and a lamb curry all getting credit, along with vegetarian and vegan options. Diners also mention views of sheep, the Ochil Hills and the Wallace Monument, and the attached shops. Service draws mixed reports. Several call the staff friendly and helpful, but one reviewer describes menus dropped on the table and no contact from staff for a long stretch while two couples who arrived later were served, so they left. Another notes that some complain of sparse attention from servers. One reviewer says the venue is dog friendly, yet dogs cannot be taken through the building and the dog friendly patio cannot be reached from outside without lifting a dog over the fence. One visitor was given free scones near closing time.

“Used to love this place. Looking at past reviews it doesn’t seem they’ve fixed the service issues. We were sort of just shunted into the nearest seats near the door and toilet, despite plenty of seats in the conservatory being available, it’s a particularly sunny day. Menus slapped on the table and then not a peep from any staff member for 15 minutes. No service from anyone, but two older couples that came in after us were served almost immediately and seated in the sunny conservatory area. So we left. And won’t be returning, it’d be fine if it’s a one off but I’ve looked at past reviews and until they fix the clear issues with service, there’s not a chance we shall come back sadly.”
