About Amore Restaurant
Amore Restaurant is an Italian restaurant at 2-3 Cheyne Ln in Stamford, owned by Chef Alessandro and his wife Monica. The kitchen makes its dishes from scratch, so the menu is cooked in-house rather than assembled. Pasta sits alongside fish, with sea bass among the mains and penne Siciliano pairing sausage with fennel. Crème brûlée is on the dessert list. A wine list and cocktails run alongside the food. Parties of any size can arrange a private event, which suits larger groups celebrating together. Amore is open Tuesday to Saturday and closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
The complaints are mostly about pace and noise. One midweek diner waited 15 minutes for anyone to ask about drinks, saw mains arrive about 45 minutes after arriving, and found the wait staff chaotic. Another couldn't stay for dessert because a very loud table of four disturbed several tables nearby. One couple found both cocktails, a Daiquiri and a Limoncello Spritz, pretty awful, though the quick food and good service made up for it. The same reviewer finished with a Crème brûlée and Profiteroles and called the food outstanding.

“We visited on a trip to Stamford. We were really impressed with the food! Our selection of starters was chilli prawns (delicious and huge) and prosciutto wrapped Camembert. Then mains were risotto and penne Siciliano (sausage and fennel) - exquisite! The staff at all levels were attentive and informative and we were checked on at every course to ensure all was good. Nice wines at a reasonable price. Highly recommended!!”

“What a delightful place. 4 of us went last night and had an authentic, home cooked Italian dinner in a lovely atmosphere - lively but at a noise level that felt comfortable. The staff are a real credit to the place; competent, well presented and efficient but friendly and warm. Excellent.”
