Quick info
About Giuseppe's
Giuseppe's is an Italian restaurant on Kent Road in Southsea, set a short walk from the seafront with outdoor seating out front and a dining room behind. The menu is a long-standing Italian spread built around pizza, with pasta and other classic dishes alongside, and a dessert list that includes tiramisu. Service runs table service, with the front-of-house team taking orders at the table, and a service charge is added to the bill. The kitchen covers the breadth of the Italian repertoire, so diners can move from pizza and pasta through to the sweet course without leaving the menu. A waiter takes orders throughout the meal, and the outdoor tables fill the frontage in warmer weather.

Customer Review Summary
Diners disagree sharply here. Pizza and tiramisu draw consistent praise, with several calling the food delicious and the dessert superb, but one diner found the spaghetti and meatballs inedible, describing dried-out sauce and cheap meat, and another reported stomach troubles after the prawn starter. Service splits opinion: some find staff lovely and welcoming, while others describe pressure to flag problems and a theatrical, shouty waiter who made conversation difficult.

“Hadde reker som forrett. Den var ikke god, lot mye ligge igjen. Sirloin som hovedrett kanskje en 3-er, men tilbehøret var godt under pari. Fikk vondt i maven på kvelden med påfølgende brekninger. Tror det må ha vært rekene.”

“Food was fine but nothing special (although I did see some huge pizzas being served so maybe I just didn't choose well!) Very shouty, theatrical waiter which didn't make for a relaxing evening and made chatting tricky. Some people loved it though!”

“Excellent all round. Felt like the restaurant when it was in Hilsea. Reasonably priced and service was excellent. Thoroughly recommend.”

“Really lovely Italian restaurant! The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the desserts were amazing, especially the tiramisu. The staff were also lovely and welcoming. Would definitely recommend!”
