  “This is such a great restaurant! It’s right by the seaside and the restaurant was surrounded by a whole glass panel so the view was amazing. The service itself was fantastic but I would definitely recommend booking a table beforehand as there weren’t that many tables in the restaurant. We got the crab salad as a starter which was really fresh. The hot seafood platter came with a lot of seafood, especially a lot of mussels and was perfect for sharing between 3 people for £95! It came with chips as well which were super crispy and soaked in the juices from the seafood perfectly. My sister had dietary requirements as well and they catered amazingly to it, changing the battered fried fish to a grilled one which was still super flakey.”

  “We came here for my partners birthday lunch. Hands down the best fish and chips I have ever had in the UK. The haddock was so soft, sweet and flakey fried in the most perfectly crisp golden batter. Homemade tartare sauce and chips were SO GOOD but the star of the meal was the curry sauce - flavours are unbeatable. We got the take away from their shop downstairs called temple tacos. It’s so lovely because you also know which local boat and farms your fish and potatoes came from as they are displayed on a board. With the sea views, this was the best birthday meal we could’ve asked for. And the best thing is that the entire meal doesn’t even make you feel heavy/tired after like most fish and chips. This would be my #1 reason to go back to the north east.”

  “I had a great meal at this seafood restaurant. The seafood was fresh, sweet, and delicious. Every dish was unique and full of flavour. The restaurant was clean, with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys fresh seafood.”

  “Visited on a Monday afternoon. We had booked a table and were seated promptly. We ordered fish goujons, and small cod and haddock meals. My haddock was delicious and quite large. The chips were excellent, very crispy. The restaurant is very noisy, however I'd have no hesitation in returning.”

  “Been wanting to try this place for ages now, and we were not disappointed! We chose to have 6 oysters for starters, they tasted so fresh and were so delicious! And then we shared the seafood platter and wow it had everything! Mussels, scallops, prawns, langoustines, salmon and other fish. We finished the lot and it tasted incredible! The views were amazing and the service was lush too! Will definitely be back.”

  “The food was very good, but what made our afternoon wonderful was we were given the best table in the house with views for three to look at the sea to the North, East and South. Really nice table and 'U' shaped booth. We ordered the seafood platter with a saiad side order. Perfect for three hungry adults and no waste; with a little room left for Affogato, Pana cotta with blackcurrant, pistachio, vanilla and strawberry ice cream. We will be back as this was the best service we have experienced in the North East and we have been eating out now for over 18 years. Great atmosphete, lovely views, exceptionally well cooked (and caught) seafood, relaxed and no service charge .... so we left a tip, everyone played their part, what a great team you have. A minor point, the strawberry ice cream felt very opal fruit like (just like bought in) ... unlike the raspberry lemonade which was exquisite and felt like someone had put some love into it.”

  “Here's what's great about this venue ... absolutely everything! That's not to say everything is totally perfect ❤️ ..but it practically is and when minor mistakes occur they absolutely know how to handle it so you feel valued and ultimately taken care of. We visited for the first time last night with all our very picky eaters in tow to celebrate my birthday, which we kept on the down low because I'm not a fan of everyone singing and looking at me! BUT ... When I say we felt like we were treated exactly like they knew it was a special occasion I'm not exaggerating - from the ease of parking to the the stunning venue itself - optimum cleanliness - warm welcome upon entering and having every need catered for in good time the service alone was OUTSTANDING now ...THE FOOD...Am I a fan of seafood ..not really .. but was this one of the best meals I've had in my life...? Without a doubt!! The menu was brilliant and had something for everyone - and all dishes were executed to total perfection - portions were generous too! The drinks menu was as good an offering as the food menu itself .. our kids 11, 7 & 24 😆 all voted this place a 10/10 which is unheard of!! Never have we had that result and we try to eat out at least once a week as a family so that's pretty amazing for us to get that response! Staff were just great with our kids too having genuine canny conversation & making them feel equally as valued as customers..we just cant wait to come back! Menu highlights...the Souffle and Tacos - Roasted cod the kids meals were brilliant too and the chocolate fondant 🤤😋❤️ utter perfection!! We don't want to spend our money anywhere else now!!”

  “Here’s a polished review you can use: ⸻ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Colmans Seafood Temple absolutely lives up to its reputation. First tip — make a reservation! We walked in and it was completely full, but luckily managed to grab seats at the high chairs by the bar, which actually turned out to be a great spot. Service was friendly and attentive throughout — welcoming, efficient and genuinely warm. We both had the regular cod and chips and they were spot on. The batter was light, crispy and not at all greasy, just perfectly cooked. The cod was flaky and fresh, exactly how it should be. The mushy peas were honestly out of this world — full of flavour and the perfect consistency. And the chips in the buttered stottie? Absolutely delicious. Proper comfort food done right. A brilliant fish and chip experience in a fantastic setting — we’ll definitely book ahead next time!”

  “We went for lunch on a cold January lunchtime. The reception was excellent and our table had great views of the beach. The menu is very good and quite reasonably priced. The service was very attentive but not pushy. The food was really well cooked and tasty. The choice of drinks was good Overall a great choice”
