  “Lovely little cafe serving an excellent choice of gluten free food and cakes. My husband is a coeliac and was delighted by the cakes, and as a non coeliac, they tasted delicious despite being gf. The staff were also very helpful and friendly. Would recommend and go again.”

  “Absolutely love this place! The staff are amazing! You need to put tips on your card machine! I had no cash on me and I really wanted to tip the waiter that served us he was fantastic. Such a cute place with great food and a beautiful view . I can't wait to return! Thank you so much guys! They even do beans on toast that's such a bonus to me :-) . Ooh let's not forget the fab cappachinos!!”

  “After a long walk down to Bolton Abbey we called in for a drink.Its a very charming place with great coffee and cakes.I had a cherry and rhubarb slice which was delicious. There was a seating area outside with outstanding views.”

  “Lovely, cosy place for tea and a scone. Their latte is top quality - proper coffee machine as well. The open fire will keep hikers warm. Good selection of hot food on the menu. Highly recommended!”

  “The Tea Cottage at Bolton Abbey enjoys an absolutely stunning location—easily one of the best spots in the Dales to sit back and soak up the views. You could happily spend all day here, with the sound of the river in the background and the beauty of the countryside all around you. It’s no surprise the place gets such glowing reviews for its setting alone. The atmosphere is lovely, with plenty of outdoor seating and a relaxed, welcoming feel. It’s the kind of place that draws you in after a long walk—and it’s easy to see why people keep coming back. However, while the experience is great, the cost is on the high side—and unfortunately, it’s not fully justified by the food itself. Given the Tea Cottage’s prime position at the gateway to local farms and Dales produce, there's a real missed opportunity here. With access to some of the best ingredients in the country, they could offer something truly special and locally sourced. I’d happily pay a premium for that level of quality and authenticity. Instead, it feels like ingredients are sourced in bulk, and while the food is fine, it lacks that wow factor you'd hope for in a place with this much potential. Still, if you’re visiting Bolton Abbey, the Tea Cottage is well worth stopping at for the view alone. Just don’t expect artisan, locally-inspired food to match the incredible surroundings—at least not yet. Here’s hoping they lean into their location more in future.”

  “Wow, what a wonderful place to stop off for something to eat or drink. Just been on a long walk around the Abbey and stopped off for a bite and a drink. The room inside is beautifully decorated and very clean. There is plenty of seating inside and out. It's disabled access friendly, which I need (well done). It looks like the staff really cares about the place. The staff are very friendly, nothing was too much trouble, even though it was getting late and quiet so they were nearing closing. Good quality hot chocolate and latte, excellent panini's. I would highly recommend a visit. 5 star.”

  “We loved this little gem of a restaurant with its stunning views of Bolton Abbey. The food is fresh and the portions were generous. The staff were cheerful and couldn't do enough. A real treat after a long walk around the Abbey. Highly recommended!”
