“I’ve been eating at Lee Fung House for over 10 years and it used to be one of my favourite Chinese takeaways my family would go to. Since the change of ownership the quality has taken a hit. A couple of weeks ago we spent £35 on a usual order and about half of it ended up in the bin because several pieces of chicken were pink and congealed together, as if they hadn’t been properly defrosted before cooking. Because I have been ordering for so long I just thought I could deal with it next time we ordered to make it right. Being a long term customer and having just got back from London in the heatwave week, I wanted to chill instead of bothering a busy kitchen on a Friday night. The frustrating part is this isn’t the first time we’ve had undercooked chicken from here. I’m not someone who likes complaining because I know how tough it is for businesses at the moment, so I let it go the first time. But after it happened again, I felt I had to reach out as I am quite literally wasting money on uncooked food. When I rang, the person I spoke to on the front desk was defensive and dismissive from the start, denying the chicken could have been undercooked, and implied I was being dishonest. After spending around £40-60 a month there for many years and never complaining before I am curious as to why they would feel I would suddenly do this now. I found that really disappointing. The only offer after a long, argumentative conversation was £3 off our next order. It’s a shame because I used to recommend this place. The food quality has dropped, the customer service was unacceptable, and you have now lost a regular.”
