  “The best dining in Lerwick! A beautiful space with gorgeous views overlooking the water. We started with the Cullen Skink - the best we have had so far on our travels through Scotland. Served with a delicious local bread - what a way to start an amazing meal. Our mains were the Fresh Local Haddock and the 10oz Rib eye Steak. The haddock was so flavorful and served with a wonderful dressed salad and chips. The steak was cooked to perfection - medium rare - and served with carrots, green beans, snow peas, and chunky chips with a side butter garlic sauce. Wow…just amazing. The portions were massive so our dessert of Belgian Chocolate Pecan Torte came home with us and was devoured immediately. The menus are clearly marked for vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free and most dishes can be prepared to accommodate food allergies. The service was impeccable. They had a full house when we arrived yet everything ran efficiently and drinks and plates came out without any delay. They offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a Sunday brunch served 12.00PM – 16.00PM. Each menu has a great children’s menu, except breakfast, because, hey, that’s for all ages! We want to wish the owner, Jonathan, all the best in his future endeavors. It was truly a pleasure to meet him and talk a little. We really appreciated his time and attention on a very busy night! He has built an incredible business and a reputation for excellence over the past 11 years. We’ll be back tomorrow for breakfast and dinner again the next night. It is that good! Reservations are recommended. They get busy, and for good reason. 5-stars! I wish I could give it 10-stars. Fjarå and their great staff deserve it!   “One of my favourite places in Shetland. I’ve visited Fjara several times over two different trips, and it has never disappointed. The coffee is always excellent, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and there is always a lovely buzz of people enjoying themselves. I’ve had breakfast here, including the pancakes, and I’ve also come for lunch. Everything I’ve tried has been delicious. The location and the views are absolutely beautiful, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy good food and great coffee. A place I happily return to every time I visit Shetland. 🍎”

  “Went here after disembarking the ferry from Aberdeen. Very delicious breakfast and really rich coffee. I had the Fjara Breakfast and a flat white. My only complaint is that service was slow; but this could be due to it being busy and the customer to staff ratio is imbalance I think. But really nice cafe in terms of food and view.”
