Customer Review Summary
Praise centers on one member of staff behind the bar, whom several reviewers credit with friendly, welcoming service, including coming straight over with drink suggestions and making mocktails during an England match. Those visits also mention good music and a nice atmosphere. On food, the BBQ pulled pork pizza and Chick N Kiev loaded fries were thoroughly enjoyed, and one reviewer liked the wings and tenders. The complaints carry real weight, though. Several describe drinks arriving very late or not at all, and one party left after no one took their order. Others report cold burgers and fried chicken, sour coleslaw, a burnt patty with lumpy cheese sauce, and fries that were either too salty or tasted frozen. One reviewer says almost everyone in their party was ill afterward. Another says a manager raised her voice during a drinks complaint, and one calls the place very, very loud. Still, one diner who waited a long time for drinks and a pizza was pleased that the manager deducted them from the bill.

“I cannot rate the food as I didn't get any !! We went for a family meal to celebrate my sonds GCSE results, it was booked months in advance. We should have been given a larger table due to one of our party being in a wheelchair. I aclled the day before and was 'assured' we would get 2 table joined together. This didn't happen I had to move the tables with a member of staff. After sitting at our table for 40 minutes we had to go and request menus, After a further 30 minutes, no one came to take our orders so we left. Not 1 person came to see us, we had to go to the bar and get drinks. If the restaurant was busy, I would understnad it but it was 25% full. When we told the gentlmen behind the bar we were going, he was not bothered and no apology given. I e-mailed them the next day to give my feedback after 5 days of not hearing back I mailed again. STILL NOTHING. Absolutely disgusting, what should have been a special night turned out to be not so special.”

“Really enjoyed our visit to Wildcard Bar & Grill. The food was great, the atmosphere was really nice, and we had a brilliant time. Big shoutout to Joe for looking after us. He was friendly, helpful and made us feel really welcome.”

“Drinks were lovely and nice atmosphere. I ordered bbq pulled pork burger and It tasted like a burger from a fairground, cheap patties and stacked to the point where it was toppling over when it arrived and impossible to eat. Wayy too much cheese sauce so the brioche bun was pretty much mush. I asked to upgrade my fries to have cheese sauce sour cream and bacon bits, the chips tasted like the frozen microwave chips and some still have a frozen taste to them, there was no sour cream or bacon bits. And I paid £17.50 for the burger and £3 to upgrade my fries which is why it was so disappointing The wings and tenders however were lovley”

“Visiting for my niece’s birthday, I managed a last-minute Saturday booking for 16 people. Please be aware parking is unavailable. The bar was pleasant and clean. We sat upstairs and were asked during ordering whether we wanted separate bills for the three families. The food arrived after about 50 minutes, all at once. The burgers and fried chicken were ice cold; the chips were warm and over-fried, each hollow and soaked in oil. The coleslaw was so sour that the mayonnaise had clearly gone off, and I had to spit out my first bite. I complained and requested the manager, who did not appear. When I asked again later, he arrived, acknowledged the issue, said only “I’ll speak to the kitchen”, and did not return. We asked once more to speak with him because we wanted to pay and raise the complaint. Eventually, he returned, agreed the food was below standard, and offered a 20% discount. The bill arrived as a single total, making it difficult to calculate with VAT and the discount. We had to let one person pay the full £305 and sort it out later. Honestly, it was the worst meal I have ever had in a restaurant. Almost every member of the party has since been ill. Please avoid at all costs unless you’re just going for a drink.”
