Customer Review Summary
Breakfast is what most reviewers return for, from a full English to pancakes and several versions of Eggs Benedict, with one diner calling the gluten free breakfast brilliant, down to the good gluten free bread. Close behind is the staff, described repeatedly as friendly, welcoming and helpful, including with dietary requirements. Others mention Sunday brunch with great portions, a baby shower with a buffet, and quick service that cured a group's hangover. One reviewer counts the 90s music as a plus. The criticism is sharper. One diner found the eggs overdone and the hash browns cremated, with plates left on the table as the waitress walked past several times. Another describes a notice about buying a drink placed on the table without a word, loud Christmas music over the F1 finale with no commentary sound, and overpriced pints. That reviewer also reports men's stalls that would not latch and were coated in urine. Elsewhere, a birthday table was brought a candle and cake, which the boy called too delicious to share.

“A chance walk in that turned out to be a lucky find. Sunday brunch with friends whose son turned 14 today. Scrumptious food, nicely presentated and great portions. Staff were super welcoming and friendly - they made a fuss n brought birthday boy a candle n cake to the table which he said was too delicious to share. And tables a good size for a group too.”

“Had a gluten free breakfast and it was brilliant, down to the gluten free bread that they stock (really good, not the cheap stuff). Such lovely service too and very reasonable pricing. Really recommend”

“The Experience: I arrived to watch the F1 season finale with some friends who had arrived a few minutes prior. They had already ordered a round of drinks (5/6 beers for the table) when a member of staff (presumably the manager) approached. She didn't feel the need to speak to us, but placed a notice that patrons watching the tv need to buy a drink in front of me. That's rude as heck in my books. Use your words. it's worth mentioning that by this point, she had already offered round a food menu a minute prior, so was clearly capable of conversing. Furthermore, the exciting finale for this season of F1 was played without audio, with this /wonderful/ venue opting to play LOUD christmas music. At 1pm on a Sunday. I then went to the bathroom to discover neither stalls in the Men's would latch properly and were both well coated in both wet and dried urine. Drinks were overpriced, decor is the same industrial "we aren't paying for a single thing" vibe that you find in every underwhelming pub that thinks it's trendy and charges 6 quid for a basic pint. If you want me to pay your crazy prices, give us some atmosphere, or at least put the sound on your telly. The Verdict: Not coming back. Between passive aggressive staff that wouldn't stop staring down my table but didn't want to talk to us, the terrible choice in music (again, WAY too loud for a sunday afternoon) and the condition of the loo, there's quite literally nothing to go back for there. Should You Go? Don't waste your money, time or energy on this mediocre, self-aggrandized microcosm of everything wrong with kelham island, and gentrification in general. Every pint drank in this bar is a pint that could have been memorable, enjoyable and refreshing, if only it were served elsewhere for a third of the price.”
