About Dragon Palace

A 132-dish menu drawn from regions across China, Cantonese cooking among them, gives diners at Dragon Palace plenty to work through. The Chinese restaurant sits on Minster Rd in Sheerness and serves both sit-down tables and takeaway orders. Starters run to paper wrapped prawns, sesame seed prawns on toast and seaweed with ground fried fish, while crispy aromatic duck comes by the quarter or the half and mandarin spare ribs sit among the meat dishes. Dishes arrive at the table from the kitchen, and portions are large enough to share around. The restaurant has been going long enough that some diners have been coming back for around twenty years. It opens daily in the evenings.

Customer Review Summary

The food is what brings people back, with several long-time regulars describing twenty years of visits and one saying it has ruined other Chinese meals for them by comparison. Portions come in for repeated praise as generous, one diner recalling being gently told they had ordered too much, and another still misses the deep fried coconut cream. Takeaway draws close behind, described as rapid, with large orders consistently arriving correct, though one reviewer finds it pricey. Service splits the reviews sharply. Several call the staff friendly and attentive, but others describe the opposite: a table asked for clean plates and says the woman who brought their food out was rude and visibly miserable for the rest of the meal, and another recounts a dispute over the bill that went unresolved, leaving them paying more than expected on a night the room was full and understaffed. One diner sums up that visit as being treated like a nuisance.

“What a disappointment this evening was. The food was tasty but the service was awful and the atmosphere couldn't of been any worse. The restaurant was full, but not enough staff to serve everyone. There was a large table of extremely noisy and rude customers. There was a dispute over the bill that was not resolved so we ended up paying over the odds. Very disappointed with their attitude when we raised the issue. We have used this restaurant many times but after tonight's experience we will not be returning. The food was tasty but the staff, the service and the rest of the experience was terrible.”

“Can only comment on Take away as haven't used restaurant for a long time. Take away is very good but a bit on the pricey side. Our orders which are usually quite large have always been correct. Ate in restaurant last night and it was …”
