Quick info
About Giggling Squid - Sevenoaks
Giggling Squid is a Thai restaurant at 3c Dorset St in Sevenoaks, with a menu built around dishes to share. Lunch centres on the Thai Tapas Sets, a format that suits eating with friends and family. Thai curries and spicy stir fries sit alongside them for anyone after a larger dish, and a list of Thai-inspired cocktails runs with the food. The interiors follow a botanical theme, so the room carries plant-led decor as well as the Thai cooking. The restaurant is a fifteen minute walk from the train station, and The Stag independent cinema is a couple of minutes away.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the salt and pepper squid, one calling it the best they have had and another pairing it with zingy prawns as a sharing starter. Close behind are the chubby pork cheeks, described as tender, and the mushroom and crispy tofu in tamarind sauce wrapped in roti. Golden money bags, pork dumplings, a massaman curry and a prawn pad thai with peanuts served on the side also get named. Cocktails, including a hot ginger one, are called delicious, and staff are repeatedly described as friendly, with food arriving quickly even when busy. Several note the dishes are very filling and heavy. The recurring caveats are small: one reviewer wanted a bigger portion of the garlic noodle side for the price, and another was seated right next to the stairs despite having a reservation. One reviewer with allergen concerns found the dishes clearly labelled and handled with extra care, and diners leave with a small pack of free jellybeans.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly and a very safe and warn atmosphere. The toiletries are very spacious and clean, and the entire restaurant being clean. After your meal you get a small pack of free jellybeans with cute packaging. Would totally recommend and is very friendly with vegetarian options too and other courses. “Lydia was an amazing server and all the service was very fast and reliable. Food was delicious but very filling and heavy. Lighting and decor perfectly fits the vibe of the restaurant and its Thai atmosphere.”

“Our waitress Lydia was so kind and accommodating. Such lovely mini conversations with her and it felt so genuine. It was an amazing experience. Food was delicious and this isn’t a critique in anyway more of a good thing but very filling.”
