Customer Review Summary
Lamb massaman curry is the dish reviewers name most, appearing in both a lunch set with spring rolls and rice and a dinner order of shared mains. Close behind are the green curry, the Penang curry and Gaeng Dang, along with sweetcorn fritters and banana fritters with coconut ice cream. Others praise the calamari, the cashew dish with prawns, Thai chicken basil and the cocktails and wine list. Reviewers repeatedly describe friendly, smiley staff and reasonable prices, and the dark, modern decor gets a mention too. The criticisms are small. One diner found the pad Thai only ok and would not order the morning glory again. Another thought the rice portion a tad small, and one found the wall dividing the two sides of the dining room a bit weird. One reviewer who arrived without a booking was squeezed in, and another was offered a table, while one suggests booking for a guaranteed space. A birthday table was brought a dessert with candles and a chorus of Happy Birthday.

“An absolute gem ! Had the most gorgeous lunch at Thai Pad in Oxted ( my return visit). Chef Suman is nothing short of incredible. Every dish was bursting with flavour, beautifully balanced, and honestly just sublime! The team made the experience even better. Kashi, Sushil, and everyone front of house were so warm, welcoming, and genuinely lovely. It is the kind of hospitality that makes you feel instantly at home, the energy is just spot on. I love this place! Whether you are popping in for a relaxed lunch or settling in for a cosy dinner, it delivers every single time. If you love Thai food, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!🌶️🍜💛”

“What a find! I was taken here for a pre-birthday lunch by a friend on a rainy Thursday. The restaurant decor is classy and very nice to look at. We were the first in at 12pm but were made to feel welcome. The lunch set menu option had a really good number of choices. I ordered the lamb massaman curry, which came with spring rolls, rice and vegetables. My friend had the vegetable pad Thai which came with the same. The food arrived quickly and the portion sizes were fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed everything on our plates and the flavours were just right for me. The restaurant has a few round tables which seat 6 people each and which I always like to see. We have already agreed that we want to go back with our wider group of friends for a girls night out! Whilst we were there it was fairly quiet, but that didn't bother us. A few more tables were occupied and people were still coming in as we left around 1.45pm. They did tell us that they get quite busy in the evenings, which is good to hear. The restaurant is a little hidden away, (we went in a circle to find it), but it's actually only about 30 seconds walk from the train station.”

“Great Thai food. Friendly staff. Not many places that I’ve discovered that offer authentic Thai food. This restaurant comes very close. Delicious food with friendly staff. Park in Morrisons car park free for 2 hours. We went for a birthday and mentioned it to staff and they kindly bought out a dessert with candles and sang Happy Birthday. Thai green curry and Thai chicken basil was delicious. Well worth a visit. Prices are reasonable would definitely recommend a visit. Get a nice Singha beer with your meal to complete the experience. If you love Thai food I’m sure you’ll like this place. Will definitely return.”

“Big thank you to the Thai Pad team, I'd give a million stars if I could! ✨ We came in Saturday evening with no booking but they managed to squeeze us in. (Don't be like us, make sure you book for a guaranteed space.) Even with our limited time, the food and service were not compromised at all. Service was friendly, efficient and it was definitely one of the best Thai food I've had for a while. The only thing I'd say is the rice portion is a tad small. (Tho we're just big backs). Thank you Karuna for such a lovely night! (Not sure if that is your name, but it was the lady in the white shirt with a little braid at the back)”
