About Cholderton Farm Shop & Cafe
Cholderton Farm Shop & Cafe is a farm cafe on Tidworth Road in Salisbury, just off the A303 on a working farm. Free-roaming chickens wander the grounds, and a barn on site houses lambs. The cafe serves home made hot and cold food, including an English breakfast, poached or fried eggs on toast, sandwiches and pies, with cakes alongside. Tea comes in a pot. The farm shop next door sells local produce. Dogs on leads are welcome, so visitors can bring them along. Sandwiches can involve a wait at peak times. Seating is available inside the cafe and farm shop.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the working farm setting, where free range chickens roam and one family saw baby lambs in the barn, making it a stop just off the A303 for breakfast or lunch. Food sits close behind. Diners praise home made hot dishes, sandwiches, local pies and cakes, and call poached eggs on white bloomer toast with a pot of tea very good. Staff are repeatedly described as friendly, and several mention quick service even when busy. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found the banana cake average with little banana flavour, another objected to lots of strong, acidic canned tomatoes with the English breakfast and no mushrooms or fresh tomatoes, and one found the server surly. Others mention tables needing a wipe, higher prices than other farm shops, a long sandwich wait at peak times, and too few loos. One parent recalls staff bringing out colouring sheets for their child.

“Lovely little spot to stop! Delicious sandwiches and pies and lots of free range chickens! Dogs on leads allowed. We didn't get a sandwich as was a 40m wait so perhaps avoid peak times. They do need more loos! I waited 15mins....it was beautifully clean though.”
