About Central Park
Central Park is an Italian restaurant in Redcar at 7-9 Millbank Terrace, where the kitchen puts a Teesside-style parmo on the menu next to its Italian cooking. Cajun mussels come as a starter, and mussels also appear among the mains, so seafood can open or anchor a meal. For meat, the menu lists a blackened sirloin and a rump steak. The dining room is small. Tables can be booked in advance, and the restaurant also takes same-day and last-minute bookings.

Customer Review Summary
Diners most often praise the food, with the Teesside parmo called "absolutely beautiful" by one visitor and ordered by a family group in another review. Close behind, the Cajun mussel starter is called superb, and others describe the garlic bread, leek and potato soup, escalope and pizza as delicious or lovely. Value is repeatedly called good, and several mention friendly staff who offered drinks straight away. Complaints centre on pacing, noise and comfort. One reviewer felt rushed, with plates cleared mid-mouthful and the bill and card machine arriving while a child was still eating pudding. Another waited at a booked table while later arrivals were served, then found the blackened sirloin and rump rubbery. Two mention loud music in a small room, one leaving with a sore throat from shouting, and another found the restaurant freezing. Staggered food and a wait to be seated on a busy Easter Friday were accepted by one diner, who still planned to return.

“This is a family favourite. We visit frequently due to the exceptional food, fantastic customer service and friendlies, and laid back environment. Will continue to return as long as it remains open. The prices are incredible too.”

“Updated Dec 2023 Booked to go in later the same day. Had to wait a little while when we arrived but were able to get drinks while we waited. Clearly a very busy night with lots of big groups. The service was very friendly and the food was quick but very tasty. Only suggestion would be to perhaps turn the music down a little. Original review Collected a takeaway. Great value. The food was great too.”

“Booked table for two. Seated then moved by blond female with foreign accent to another table. Everyone else that came in after us was served and eating before a member of staff walked passed and and was asked by my partner why we were waiting so long to be served, her excuse was that there was not any menus on the table. So they all thought our order had been taken. We were offered one complimentary side between both of us and not a drink as would be the norm anywhere else. Ordered 2 blackened sirloin steaks. My partner got one and I got a rump. Very bad like rubber. Then a male member of staff started throwing cutely into the cutlery tray right next to us. Very distracting with the noise it created and quite annoying to be honest I was going to get up and leave. Very bad experience from a place I've been to plenty of times before. Will have to put them on the back of the list in future.”
