Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the fish, describing it as huge and fresh, with one saying the shop cooks a mean fish and another calling it the best chippy round here over 50 years. Hot chips, a fresh barm and a supper of fish, chips, pie and curry sauce also get named, and a lunchtime special of sausage, chips and gravy is called a bargain with good portions. Staff are described as friendly, chatty and quick, and the shop as clean. One reviewer finds prices a tad above other chippies and wants meal deals offered in the evening as well as at lunch, and another asks that customers try to use cash. A disabled reviewer with Tourettes and a stammer reports being treated rudely by a woman at the counter, who responded with a sarcastic remark about him being quite a guy. The recurring food complaint is the mushy peas, which one reviewer says were like bullets and another says tasted like tinned processed peas, alongside a gravy one diner found tasteless.

“Just been in here for chips, I am a disabled person with Tourettes and a stammer. After not communicating in the way the very rude woman wanted, I got told I was "Quite a guy" in a highy sarcastic tone. I have no idea why this person was so rude to me.”
