About Billy Bob’s Myerscough

Billy Bob’s Myerscough is a 50s-style American diner restaurant at North Planks Farm in Preston, where diners can eat aboard a school bus or inside a Coke truck. The menu covers homemade burgers, Philly cheese steak and American pancakes, with separate breakfast, lunch and evening menus and thick shakes and espresso drinks alongside. Orders are placed through an app, and the food is brought to the table. Families have their own seating areas, while a quieter section for adults and teens is styled as a garage and gas station. Outside, a barn with hay bales, slides, rope swings and climbing areas gives children space to play, and a covered play area means that can continue on rainy days. Dogs are welcome too.

Customer Review Summary

Families come for the American diner theming, above all eating aboard the yellow school bus or inside the semi truck, with a barn play area, slides and a covered space for rainy days close behind. Milkshakes are repeatedly singled out as huge, one reviewer saying theirs nearly beat them, and others name the hot dog, burgers, waffles and a double scoop of Black Cherry ice cream. Portions are described as plentiful, and couples without children appreciated the quiet garage and fuel station area set apart for adults and teens. The recurring complaint is cost: several call the food expensive or not cheap, and one feels the play area should be free for diners instead of charged separately, with more again for the bouncy castles. Ordering through the app also took some navigating for a couple of visitors. Staff are widely called friendly, and one party was surprised when a team member brought a card machine to the table after a failed app order, before they had gone looking for help, while another got a free birthday milkshake.

“Good sized outdoor playarea and a covered playarea for if its raining. Food is good but it is not cheap. Dining area was nice with the old American vehicles and diner styling. Would return.”

“Absolutely amazing place , as an older couple we were made to feel very welcome. The food was very good, presented very nicely and served with a smile. All the staff were excellent, friendly and very professional. It’s a shame we live over 100 miles away , but we will come back , if only for the amazing milkshakes!”

“Great day out with the grandkids! 🍦 Took the grandkids to Billy Bob’s and they absolutely love the outdoor play area. It’s only £5 for an hour, which I think is great value. There’s also the barn area with hay bales, slides, rope swings and even a small zip line — plenty to keep the kids entertained! I haven’t eaten lunch here yet, but the ice cream is amazing! I highly recommend the double scoop Black Cherry because honestly, one scoop is just not enough! 😋🍒 The whole place is clean, well staffed and there’s plenty of parking, which makes it really easy for a family day out. I also noticed they have some lovely looking areas for birthday parties, which looked like a great option for kids’ celebrations. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for a fun day out with the little ones!”

“Wow what an experience, first time visiting and from start to finish their service was amazing. We attended for our daughters 10th birthday upon arrival she recieved such a warm welcome. Very friendly team and great facilities with incredible food. Very nostalgic place felt like we had travelled to another palce. Will definitely be returning. Thankyou again .”

“We visited for a large lunch on a Sunday mid way through a road trip. As a couple with no children, we were place in a separated off area designed like a garage/fuel station with other parties with no children which I appreciated as the restaurant is family orientated so there are a lot of loud young children. The area we were in was nice and quiet. Service was fairly quick and the food was tasty. The decor was very on theme and enjoyable. The toilets were large and clean and the entire restaurant was very clean.”
