About Kiwi's Brew Bar
On Main St in Portrush, Kiwi's Brew Bar is a bar and grill open daily, with a whisky shelf that holds the largest Irish whisky collection on the north coast. That gives whisky drinkers plenty to choose from alongside the beer. A stage hosts live music and comedy nights, and a cinema, pool tables, darts and several TV screens add more to do. White Water Brewery's Rolling in the Haze is poured on keg as a craft beer. The food menu includes burgers served with fries, such as the Bomb Burger, and a thin-base pizza. Seating is split-level to the left of the bar, with regular pub seating elsewhere. The kitchen closes before the pub does.

Customer Review Summary
Pizza is the dish reviewers praise most, one calling the thin base and generous cheese the best they have had. Burgers come close behind, including the double trouble and the bomb burger, both described as tasty and filling, with dirty fries and hot wings also singled out. Beer is another draw, from White Water kegs like rolling in the haze to canned Lacada and Bullhouse, plus a whiskey collection, with pool and darts nearby. One reviewer describes being ignored after pre-paying, getting the wrong order, reluctant staff when it was remade, and cold, soggy batter, and says allergens are not marked on the menu. Another was refused entry with a dog and offered only the smoking area seats. One found a tiny coke expensive, and one suggests calling to confirm kitchen closing times. Several note the kitchen was still serving on a Monday when other places had stopped.

“Fiancé took me here last night for a date night and I can honestly say, this was the most warming bar & restaurant to stumble across. The food was ABSOLUTELY amazing. I mean it was 10-10. The staff were so lovely. The door man was very nice also. Honestly this is a spot I can’t wait to get back to. Specially for the food. 5 star.”

“I can’t honestly say I’ve ever had a worse experience. Im not sure what it was exactly about myself and my partner, likely the fact that we aren’t locals, but from the outset service was shocking. Every table around us was greeted and brought cutlery and had pleasant conversation with staff while we were entirely ignored. Ordered and pre paid for food at the bar, 40 minutes later still waiting and still not approached by a member of staff, not even so much as an apology or explanation for the wait . Food arrived wrong, I double checked the menu myself incase it had been a mistake on my part, but no. Absolutely avoid if you have allergy’s as allergens not marked on the menu will be in your food! Little to no apology and very reluctant to remake the order, staff very short and obviously irritated with us for remaking food. Left and stood outside only to watch who I assume is the manager greet every single person at the door and pre warn them of the wait, while actively staring me down! Food was close to inedible when rectified, soggy, chewy batter, freezing cold, and just a complete mess. AVOID unless youre a local clearly!! From the outside looks lovely, but once you’re in, it’s close to a dive bar in Belfast rather than a highly rated restaurant In portrush! Would also recommend using the bathroom elsewhere before entering.”

“My Wife and I had our dinner at Kiwi’s on Monday night, we both went for the burgers, I had the double trouble and she had the bomb burger, both with fries, have to say very good tasty and filling. I also payed a couple of visits for beer over our holiday the selection is good and I especially enjoyed the White Water beer called rolling in the haze.”

“AVOID IF YOU HAVE A DOG. They don’t allow dogs (they said we could sit on the two seats on the Main Street which is the smoking area which just isn’t appropriate!) and we were left with nowhere to eat and had to get a takeaway and go back to our hotel as everywhere stopped serving early (before 8pm) lol! Please don’t make the same mistake as us. AVOID!”

“Small pub with a great whiskey collection and a few local brews to try. Food is pub food, but very very good and filling. There is a a split level seating to the left of the bar if you want a more “restaurant” feel otherwise the pub seating is great! Kitchen closes before the pub closes, 9pm on the Monday we came so if it’s later be sure to call to confirm as I couldn’t find kitchen closing times on the website. Clean facilities, friendly staff, reasonable prices, just remember this is on the main strip so parking will be depending on what time of day. Would recommend, would return. :-)”
