About The Filling Station - Edinbane
The Filling Station - Edinbane is a food truck and takeout restaurant in Portree, parked directly on the main road. One woman does both the cooking and the serving. The menu centres on venison burgers, including a chilli venison cheese burger. Rolls and tea or coffee cover a quick stop, and the homemade pastries include millionaire shortbread and a tart. The truck takes walk-ins and is open year round. The address on Maps points to a residential street, so follow the main road up the hill a few hundred metres to find it.

Customer Review Summary
Venison burgers are what reviewers return to most, including a chilli venison cheese burger described as tasty, with one noting the meat came from "just over that hill" and another saying they often order two. Close behind are the chips, called crispy and hot for the whole meal, and homemade baked goods such as millionaire shortbread, a tart and pastries. A roll and tea also earn praise from one traveller on the road. Reviewers repeatedly describe the woman running it as kind and lovely, and many mention low prices and fresh, hot food. The view of the loch is a frequent mention, with two picnic tables for eating outside. The one practical snag comes from a reviewer who found the map address pointed to a residential street and had to follow the main road up the hill a few hundred meters to reach the truck. Several reviewers close on a thank-you to the cook, and one calls it a jewel among the area's food trucks.

“Great stop with delicious food, lovely service and a nice view. 100% recommend! For us the address on Maps showed the wrong spot (a normal residential street). Just follow the main road up the hill a few hundred meters and you will find it 😊”

“A must do if you’re in the area. Burgers made fresh with the most perfectly seasoned and super crispy chips. She’s open year round. And no regrets trying some of her pastries. Homemade and ridiculously delicious. If you’re lucky to be in Skye when the weather is favorable, there’s two picnic tables where you can eat and enjoy your lunch by the lake.”

“The nicest lady serving the most delicious venison burgers. I often get two of them. Not to mention her homemade millionaire shortbread - the best one so far. All served with a big smile on her face and the prices are also very good. Thank you for being here”
