Customer Review Summary

Breakfast draws the most mentions, especially the full English with poached eggs, avocado, black pudding and sausages, plus a cappuccino one diner calls excellent. One reviewer describes the sausages and bacon as decent cuts compared with other places in the area. Several came back for dinner after a morning visit, and the ribeye with Diane sauce and the rump steak with peppercorn sauce are both described as cooked to perfection. Black pudding bon bons are called a generous starter. Close behind are the Wagyu burger from the specials, a halloumi starter with chilli jam, the truffle and bacon mac and cheese, and sticky toffee pudding. Reviewers repeatedly mention friendly service, and the fast EV chargers next to the restaurant bring in several first-time visitors. The one food complaint is mild: a breakfast described as a little oily. One reviewer suggests booking ahead because the place is popular. Another notes dogs are not allowed inside, but a waitress set up a table and chairs outside so they could have coffee while the car charged.

“This was a superb find whilst staying at the nearby Aberdunant Hall. The fast-charge Instavolt EV bays were useful, we also visited without needing to charge because the food was so good. Initially we went for Breakfast, this was so good that we booked for dinner that night. Another stop for breakfast was enjoyed. Highly recommended visit.”

“Whilst working in the area, I sourced this absolute gem of a steakhouse. I left work early, well because I felt like it to be honest. My Air B’n’B is vegan and I really wanted a treat. So on a miserable Wednesday lunchtime I was a walk in customer. The delightful Kay greets you and takes your order. I wanted to sit in the garden and take in some fresh air. I ordered the halloumi to start and the 227g rump steak medium rare. To accompany this, the beef dripping cooked chips and peppercorn sauce. Up first was the halloumi, a hearty portion served with rocket and a chilli jam. It’s the best I’ve had in a very long time. Tasty, plentiful and golden crisp. My drink of choice was a Welsh ipa, I had two pints and they hit the spot alright. Sat in Snowdonia National park, the ambience was perfect. Now for the main event, the rump steak. It was cooked to perfection and was served with cherry vine tomatoes, parmesan cheese and rocket salad. The chips were chunky rectangles, crunchy and filling. Peppercorn sauce was perfection and I took my time to really enjoy it. I wanted the afternoon to continue so I ordered the sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream. This was an absolute delight and really was the perfect dessert. Kay was attentive, friendly and courteous. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit, recommended.”

“Stumbled upon this fab restaurant because we needed to charge the car and they have the super fast charging points. I am so glad we did we had one of the best meals I have eaten this year. The kids food was also awesome. Great service and local beer on draft. Will 💯 be eating here again”

“I would highly recommend booking a table in advance, as this restaurant is clearly very popular. We arrived without a reservation and were fortunate to be accommodated, thanks to the friendly and attentive staff, who went out of their way to find us a table. Service was prompt, and we didn’t have to wait long before placing our order. The restaurant offers a good selection of drinks, but the real highlight is undoubtedly the quality of the steaks. Both of our meals were cooked perfectly to our requested level, beautifully presented, and accompanied by a choice of delicious sauces that complemented the meat exceptionally well. Overall, this was an excellent dining experience with outstanding food and welcoming service. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great steak. Just be sure to reserve a table beforehand to avoid disappointment.”

“What a fantastic surprise! Hidden away in the Welsh countryside, surrounded by sheep and cattle fields, this is the last place where you’d expect to find such a stylish, cosy restaurant – yet it’s an absolute gem. We stopped for breakfast and were genuinely impressed. The service was outstanding: warm, attentive, knowledgeable and happy to accommodate special requests (adding Black Pudding was no problem at all). The breakfast was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. We enjoyed different versions of the full English breakfast with poached eggs, avocado, Black Pudding, excellent sausages and perfectly cooked eggs. The cappuccino was also excellent. Unfortunately, we had to continue our journey, otherwise we would definitely have returned in the evening to try the steaks. If the dinner is anywhere near as good as the breakfast, it must be outstanding. An added bonus is the excellent InstaVolt fast chargers right next to the restaurant, making it the perfect place to stop while charging an EV. Highly recommended – whether you’re passing through, exploring North Wales, or simply looking for a memorable meal. This place is absolutely worth the detour.”
