About Everest Spice
Everest Spice is an Indian restaurant in Plymouth, on Athenaeum St, with a dedicated Nepalese section on its menu alongside the Indian dishes. That pairing lets a table order momos next to curries such as jalfrezi and tarka daal, with freshly made peshwari naan on the side. The dining room seats about 40 people and has 1970s-style decor with red accents. Service is evenings only, Tuesday to Sunday, and the restaurant is closed on Mondays.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often return for the Nepalese momo, described as juicy, flavorful and fresh, with the naan close behind, including a freshly made peshwari naan and a soft, toasted garlic naan. Curries also get specific praise: chicken tikka masala, jalfrezi and tarka daal, along with chicken shashlik with mushroom rice, and a vegetarian takeaway called full of flavour. Diners describe the food as authentic, well presented and reasonably priced, and the staff as friendly, polite and welcoming. The setting is called cosy, clean and tidy, suited to family dinners and special occasions. The one criticism is the look of the place, with one reviewer calling the decor dated 1970s and not impressive from outside or inside, though they say the food made up for it. Several visits fell on quiet nights, and one diner said that suited them. One parent recalled a son declaring it the best food he had ever had.

“We had a fantastic meal here recently. The food was absolutely delicious and everything arrived at our table perfectly cooked. I was especially impressed by the naan bread, which had such a great texture and fresh, toasted flavour. It paired perfectly with our mains. We will definitely be back soon.”

“What a little hidden gem! Authentic Nepalese food that tastes fantastic. Although it was quiet, which suits me perfectly, the restaurant is full of charm and character. The table presentation was immaculate and I was greeted by a kind respectful man as soon as I walked in the door which put me at ease. The food was truly delicious and well priced. Nothing pretentious here, just well cooked soul food that is full of flavour. Exactly what I was after on a Tuesday night after a busy day at work. Thank you so much for having me. I will be back and I would encourage more to do the same!”

“Ordered from here with my girlfriend a few times, and we have to say that this is probably the best curry we've had while studying in Plymouth. Today was exceptional, we ordered the chicken tikka masala and jalfrezi along with tarka daal (our favourite), and all of it tasted amazing, had the right amount of spice and the chicken was super moist. Would definitely recommend.”
