Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the generous chip portions, with one calling a medium order of chips and curry sauce huge and perfect for sharing, and another describing the chips as proper fish and chip shop chips. Close behind are the fish with good batter and the reasonable prices, with one reviewer calling a small fish and chips with curry sauce a good meal for under a certain budget. Several describe friendly, polite staff, prompt service and a large seating area, and one notes a queue even on a weekday. The complaints are specific. One reviewer found medium chips and cod oily, with small, hard chips, and another noted grease lingering in the mouth. Two report portions shrinking after price rises, and one adds that opening days and hours have been cut. Another says items were missing from an order for not the first time, only noticed at home, and that some chips were burnt. One regular describes an unwelcoming server who frowned and said they would see them again in 15 to 20 minutes, which left them feeling unable to return.

“I frequent this place quite a bit with my son, but I was disappointed with my most recent visit tonight where the gentleman who served me seemed unwelcoming and a little passive aggressive, where as usually he is friendly and bubbly. I figured maybe he was having a bad day but noticed his demeanour was friendly with other customers except from me, and the first time when I visited with my son and waiting outside for our food I noticed he was staring at me and frowning which made me really uncomfortable. After I dropped my son back off I went back to get a complete meal for myself, and again as I was waiting he seemed annoyed I was there, an when handed me my food said ‘suppose we’ll see you again in 15-20 minutes’ which I thought was an odd thing to say and didn’t quite understand what he meant. This interaction has left me feeling I can no longer come into this store which is a shame as me and my son love to eat here.”
