About Big Mouth Burger Bar
Big Mouth Burger Bar is a family-run hamburger restaurant in Peacehaven, at 219 S Coast Rd, and a stop for people walking the coastal cliffs. Burgers are the main item, and each one is cooked to order. The choices include a chilli burger and a blue cheese burger, with sauces and toppings added inside the bun. Fries are homemade, and ketchup comes in a pot on request. Burgers, chips and milkshakes are ordered separately, so each person puts together their own plate. The milkshakes include a black cherry flavour.

Customer Review Summary
Burgers are the draw at this family-run burger bar, with reviewers praising the mushroom burger, the Blue Cheese Burger and generous toppings and sauce, and several calling the prices good. Fries are close behind, described as crispy, homemade and arguably the best of any takeaway, while the black cherry and cherry milkshakes get repeated mentions, though one reviewer found theirs small, kids size. Newcomers from Hove and elsewhere say they were pleased to find it, and staff are called friendly and pleasant. The complaints are specific. Two reviewers describe greasy burgers, one with a bun like a soggy sponge dipped in grease, and one long-time regular says they will not return after two bad meals in a row. Others found a burger overcooked or chips over cooked. One order went through as a chicken burger instead of a chilli burger, and only that burger was remade, leaving the chips cold. A customer who asked for ketchup was told there was ketchup in the burger before being handed a pot.

“Im not really one to complain or write reviews but unfortunately my Chilli burger was incorrect, it had been put through as a chicken burger which is 50p more expensive, my partner ordered very clearly, had to come back after we had already started walking home, no 50p refund or not even a dip offered to cover majority of the difference and i wouldve paid the 10p if they really wanted, no sorry, only the one incorrect burger remade so the chips had gone cold My partners been going there 32 years now and we both agree the last few years there has been a slow decline, as more and more seemingly unmotivated people are hired to work the till Should also mention that when we came back to get the order sorted we had to wait for acknowledgement while other orders were being prepared despite the fact we were seen and the staff member was near the till when walking back in.”

“Worst burger I've ever eaten, bun was all dented and squashed, all I could taste was dirty fat oil through the bun and burger, it was quite unpleasant, milkshake was nice but so small, kids size, asked for some ketchup and was told there's ketchup in the burger, reluctantly gave me a pot, would not recommend!!”

“Had big hopes for a nice tasty burger but felt a little disappointed. It was ok ( not brilliant ) and the chips were over cooked . The milkshakes were nice . They could of done a meal deal with burger/chips/ shakes but bought separate and cost around £15 The staff were very pleasant.”

“Friendly staff, excellent food cooked to order. Fries were arguably the best of any takeaway I’ve ever had. Plenty of sauce and toppings in the burger. This was our first experience of Big Mouth’s having recently moved to the area. Certainly won’t be our last.”
