About Slice 'n Brew

Slice 'n Brew is a pizza restaurant at 10 King's Walk in Nottingham, serving American-Italian inspired pizza with Detroit-style pizza at the centre of the menu. Low-intervention wines and craft beer on tap are poured alongside it, so the drinks list matches the pizza rather than sitting apart from it. A ragu pizza joins the Detroit-style pie on the pizza list, and a burrata salad is on offer for those who want something lighter on the side. The space is small, with seating on the ground floor, where the tables seat two, and more seating upstairs. Dogs are welcome, and reservations are taken.

Customer Review Summary

Detroit-style pizza is what most reviewers come for, with diners calling the base perfectly cooked and the toppings and sauce full of flavour. One visitor found the ragu pizza the highlight, praising its rich, well-balanced sauce and excellent dough, and another singled out the bolognese pizza. Reviewers also mention the crisp, charred crust, the chicken tenders, the burrata salad, the potato sides, the ice tea and the pesto mayo. Draft beer gets a nod too, with Neon Raptor and Deya named. Service is described as friendly and attentive. The recurring complaint is cost: one reviewer calls alcoholic drinks slightly overpriced and another finds the craft beer pricey. One diner seated upstairs among two families with young children found it noisy and said the ground floor tables for two have a much better vibe. A reservation made for a Saturday evening didn't seem necessary to one diner, and one pair of weekend visitors booked a second night after the first.

“Best pizza I've ever had. The Detroit pizza was incredible, full of flavour, delicious toppings and sauce and the base is perfectly cooked. We also had the ice tea which was also lovely. The service was great too. We did make a reservation when we dined on Saturday evening but didn't seem necessary.”

“Finally got to go here. I tried the bolognese pizza. It was amazing. Service was good. You know the place is clean and tidy. Will definitely visit again.”

“Best pizza in Nottingham, no debate. Crust is perfectly charred, chewy and generous on the toppings. Craft beer pairs great with it, though it's pricey. Visited on a Saturday with my teen son and got seated upstairs with two families with young kids; got a bit noisy. Ground floor has tables for two and a much better vibe, so just ask when you arrive. Food is the star though. Will definitely be back! 🍕🍺”

“Best independent pizza in the City! We both ordered Detroit style pizzas, the potato sides and the burrata salad! Great drinks on tap too, including Neon Raptor and Deya! Can’t wait to come back!❤️🍕”

“I had the chance to visit this spot during my trip to Nottingham, mainly because I’d heard about their Detroit style pizza. I tried a pepperoni Detroit and also their ragu pizza. Both were very good. The Detroit pizza was definitely up there with some of the better ones I’ve had, well executed, satisfying, and true to style. What really surprised me though was the ragu pizza. I didn’t expect it to stand out as much, but it ended up being the highlight. The ragu sauce was incredibly rich and well-balanced, and the dough itself was excellent. The place is small and a bit laid-back in terms of atmosphere, which adds to its charm. Service was also solid and friendly. Overall, I left very satisfied, definitely a spot I’d come back to if I’m in Nottingham again.”
