Customer Review Summary
The salad bar is the most frequent draw, with reviewers praising the fresh, well presented spread and the Red Devil and blue cheese sauces, though one longtime visitor says the buffet has gone downhill and another describes spills as children serve themselves. Mains named include an excellent burger, wing and surf with juicy chicken, and fish and chips with sweet potato, plus a Rocky Horror dessert. One reviewer finds the main menu limited for vegetarians. The recurring complaint is pace and staffing. Several describe a busy, noisy room, and one group of six was first turned away when a coach of school children arrived. On a second visit they waited so long that some ate two salad bowls before their food came, which the reviewer put down to understaffed front of house. Staff are mostly called friendly, and one diner recalls a server warning about the wait and missing menu items and checking they still wanted to order.

“I suppose its very difficult to review these places and compare them to restaurants. As with all the Harvesters we've been in, they're extremely busy, noisy & the salad bar looks like there's been a food fight nearby. The staff try their best but with kids trying to serve themselves when they can barely reach the utensils, there's going to be plenty of spills. The food arrived fairly quickly and can best be described as OK. There's plenty of parking and I think you have to enter your registration upon arrival. Would we return? Probably not, these are places people go for convenience, not food quality.”

“Staying in the holiday inn across the road, thought I’d give a harvester a try, first one I’ve been to. Despite being very busy, my family and I luckily got a table. Was greeted at the door by a friendly lady, I’m sure her name was Nicola. Our waitress was a very friendly young lady called Alice. Who was very attentive to our needs. She looked very rushed off her feet but maintained a smile throughout our meal. Will definitely be returning when I’m back in the area”

“Looks like a family restaurant. Lots of varieties. Really good fish and chips with sweet potato. Salad buffet. Self service soda.”

“Came to the harvester and it was F-A-B. Caitlin found me a table despite how busy they looked and took a drink order for me straight away which I thought was very attentive. My server Maddy then brought over my drink and took my order. She warned me about the wait time and what was missing from the menu and made sure I still wanted to continue which I thought was very kind. The food wait was slightly longer than usual but the food was worth it. Overall a 10/10 experience and I will be coming back when i'm next in the area.”

“Always a great experience at Harvester. Although the main menu has limited vegetarian options, the salad bar and side dishes are excellent.”
