About Gibson & Girls
Gibson & Girls is a cafe on Main Rd in Maybole, serving cooked breakfasts alongside rolls with a well-fired option on request. The counter also runs cappuccino and coffee, and cakes sit alongside for those stopping in. The business doubles as a convenience shop, so a coffee run can be combined with picking up other items. It takes walk-ins rather than reservations, and rolls and breakfasts can be ordered for takeaway as well as eating in. The interior is kept clean and tidy. It opens daytime only, running Monday to Sunday but closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Customer Review Summary
Cooked breakfast draws the most mentions, with reviewers repeatedly praising the fresh, homemade food and friendly, welcoming staff, alongside cosy, well decorated surroundings. Coffee and cakes come up close behind, with several calling the coffee really nice and the cakes tasty, and the bacon roll also earns repeat approval for its fresh ingredients and fair prices. A few visits fell short of that pattern: one reviewer's cooked breakfast arrived with cold plates and toast plus an overdone tattie scone and fried eggs, while another found the cappuccino lacked foam and tasted instant, and noted tables were spaced closely enough that chairs clashed. One diner also suggested giving customers a choice of well fired or plain rolls. Despite these, most reviewers say they'll return soon.

“Had a cooked breakfast here today. Our first visit as we normally go to Souters or The Greenside so thought we would try somewhere new. Cafe is beautiful inside, very well decorated and very clean and staff friendly. Got busy quickly so took a bit of time to get our order. Unfortunately we weren't very impressed with breakfast - plates were cold (that's a pet hate of mine as food goes cold very quickly), toast was cold, tattie scone and fried eggs overdone. It was nice to try the cafe out anyway as I pass it alot.”

“Cappuccino was not a Cappuccino. No foam and tasted like instant. Other than that, bacon roll was good. Nice staff. Tables could be better spaced so chairs aren't clashing with the adjacent table.”
