Customer Review Summary

Karak chai is the draw most reviewers return to, with one calling it the best thing the place does and another finding it delicious enough to wonder why the room was empty at 4pm. The Kashmiri chai, the matcha, and paratha wraps follow, the wraps praised for a flaky texture though a bit oily. The Pistachio Cookie is singled out as smoother than the dense, dry standard cookies, and one reviewer says to avoid the smoothies. Service divides opinion. Several describe friendly staff who recommended drinks, while others report waiting at the till to be acknowledged while staff looked at phones, and feeling steered toward medium or large drinks because small was never offered. One diner found the karak chai, aloo paratha, and a pastry stale and poor, and another received only tiny straws with a large drink. Reviewers also mention a relaxed setting for studying or chatting, late opening hours, and worn but welcome board games, and one staff member even filled a customer's water bottle.

“I love this place! Open really late (unlike most coffee shops in the area). Has a really relaxing vibe for studying or a chat. And they have some board games that you can play which I often take advantage of The drinks and sweet treats are also really tasty! I would recommend the chai, and the matcha is delicious”

“Nikita thank you for your wonderful service. I was very surprised the cafe was empty at 4pm today because the Karak Chai is delicious. Cozy seatings here too.”

“I was surprised to find that the only straws available were very small ones, despite ordering a large drink. There were no standard-sized straws provided, which made the drink inconvenient to consume. Utterly inconvenient.”
  • Sarra Malik
“Really poor service, person on the till seemed confused. Karak chai and aloo paratha were not good at all. Pastry was stale and just looked off (pictures attached). Would not recommend or come back.”
  • Mahir Ali
“Came just to chill and revise with my friends and have some chai. Was greeted by Akhil and he helped me out while I was there. Amazing service, he was funny, warm and welcoming. Very friendly and made the experience fantastic, even filled up my water bottle for me. He is a credit to the store and I hope he is there next time I come, as I will definitely be coming back to Cuppa Chai.”
